Profile

Appearance

Her frame is large, muscular and bulky, yet not clumsy-looking or just completely bruteish. She has long legs, large paws, long and strong claws and quite very much fluff in her neck area. Her tail is clearly curved.

The most eye-catching feature in her appearance is not only her scars, nor the fact she totally lacks her lips and outer ears, but the metallic sort-of-an-headdress she sports. When she broke her lower jaw once in her past, one inventive human created her a prosthesis to not only help the bone heal but to also cover and protect the large scarred area in Deadache's forehead; that particular human, being a little bit weird and all, maybe overdid the thing a bit, though. The whole thing adds quite much more to Deadache's monstrous looks.

Personality

All in all, Deadache is someone who has had her ability to live normal life stolen from her at the very beginning. She's been forced to live by the sentence kill or be killed, and it has been her lifelong guideline for so long, that it's mostly deadened her normal feelings and formed her into a killing machine, a torturous sociopath, who has just seen too much death and pain and dreams getting broken to be able to appreciate life anymore.
Deadache isn't completely emotionless, though, nor is she someone who can feel something only when doing those bad, bloodied deeds she so often finds herself doing. She's mostly cold and almost always has unwavering control over her own mind - she can be so extremely controlled that she easily reaches the point to being insensible - but deep down there, under the steady and at times almost lifeless behaviour, are feelings. They're quite weak, but they are, and at times they even manage to break through the rationality and logic Deadache treasures. And at that point, she's at her worst: Deadache knows how emotions work theoretically, but she has no idea how to deal with them in practice when she's the one to feel them, and so she tends to lose the control and ends up giving in to the dark, evil impulses her mind continuously comes up with. She's capable of feeling something quite normal typically just for a little while - yet of course there are exceptions - and those warmer emotions seem to be doomed to get as twisted as Deadache's mind is overall at some point -- and at that point, those emotions may infect and darken the mind of that one who has caused her to feel in the first place. She steals minds, she puts them in chains they possibly can never break free from, but she does all that actually just because of the more or less hopeless wanting to keep this someone near her. She wants to own, and by stealing someone's thoughts and free will she wants to make sure she won't be left alone, for loneliness is something she's even a little bit afraid of; in her loneliest moments her own demons are waiting and they bring the inability to control emotions and situations with them. Deadache does not fear death, but at least occasionally she fears losing the control over herself, over the current situation.
Deadache is a sociopath, there's no doubting it. She's cruel, manipulative and sadistic and only cares about her own well-being (not too much of that either, though - she's not narcissistic nor selfish really), and everyone else is quite insignificant to her. Honestly, the whole idea of living is quite insignificant to her; her view of being alive is just to survive from one day to another, from year to year, just to get through the challenges life throws at you. And all this without any greater purpose, just because. Just because.

Past

When considering Deadache's personality, question may arise: why? What has caused this madness, this cruelty that seems to not know any borders?
The fact is, Deadache didn't choose to live like this, not at all; that decision was made for her long before she was even born. There's no psychopathy in her genes, that blood-thirsty monster is what life as a war dog made of her by stealing her other chances at the very beginning. There were only two options given: Do as said or die. And she choose to not die.
Till these days something in her corrupted, tormented mind, has kept the "kill or be killed" -phrase as a basic, something that needs to be obeyed in order to survive. A subconscious feeling in her head tells that she can't trust anyone, that if she does, she'll be dead. She's not living the war anymore, but the years of exploding bombs, painful screams and exhausting battling still live their life in Deadache's mind, in her head, keeping sure that she won't ever feel like a person anymore. She can't really even wish for the normal or even somewhat normal life that just about everyone else enjoys of, for she's an outcast, once and for all, till the very end.

And she can only accept it, she has accepted it, she has even learned to embrace it.

And nothing changes.

Miscellaneous facts

  • Created in April of 2009, Deadache is my oldest character still in active use. Through all these years she's been with me, she has claimed herself the strong position of my favourite original character ever.
  • I tend to refer to her with quite random nicknames outside the actual role-play texts and such. Dede is the most common and also the most reasonable of the punch, but also Rumanaama (uglyface), Paskamörkö (shitmonster), Mokomamörkö (damned monster), alksdleklhtliuw, that damn thing and various others are heard from time to time.
  • Deadache is quite undoubtedly the most horrible character personality-wise I've ever created, and that actually really made me think why do I like her so much? Nonetheless, she can do such horrible things because she simply wants to, she can hurt, she can not only kill, but she can twist someone into such state of madness and monstrosity that that someone isn't themself at all anymore, and she can be overall just an extremely despicable thing, so just what, what insane thing has caused me to make her the most iconic character of mine ever? What is that thing? It is the fact, I've realised, that this all is just because her past was what it was; it has twisted her into something unfixable, it has doomed her, it has marked her forever, but if it hadn't gone that way, if she had more normal past... I've seen the goodness in her, I've seen it from up close, and I know it is there, and Deadache does have some qualities that are virtuous - she is modest, she can be humble if needed, she actually can care about someone by actually rather normal way - and that just kinda makes this character damn tragic to me; she could be a good person if only she would have had a chance. I still hate her sometimes though. A lot.
  • The above doesn't still mean she would have a hidden soft spot and that all her monstrosity would be taken care of with just right behaviour, with right deeds. No. I quite dislike characters like that, because in situations like her, the help is way too late. She can't change anymore, and honestly she doesn't even feel the need to.
  • Her name is stolen from Lordi's fourth studio album.
  • Deadache also has quite many so-called theme songs, no other of my characters have that many. I wonder what's the reason, ha.
  • She also has somewhat active human version.
