Lord Sun

Guardian • Hunter

"With time, everything will be under the sun."

Lord Sun is one of the Heavenly Lords, supreme deities and personifications of the concept they take their title-names from. Sun is a member of the Patterned Sect of Lords, a medium-sized group that wields immense power over natural processes. He stays in his perch and watches as civilizations rise and fall.

Sun appears in many myths, including the birth of Lord Crow. He wished to deliver his light to the myriad worlds but when he sent his messengers into space they were overwhelmed by possibility and became lost. He carved off a section of himself to form Crow as a navigator and commander of his messengers, which he handed over to her.

He is the patron of hunters.

Aspects

Like most Lords, Sun has alternate forms depending on which aspect is being invoked. Regardless of which aspect Sun is, Sun is always referred to as Lord Sun, and not the title of the aspect.

Nikko (日光) [The Guardian]

This aspect of Sun takes the form of a black-eyed man in red tones. He carries an ocarina and walks barefoot, embracing strength in simplicity.

Hiyori (日和) [The Radiant]

This aspect of Sun takes the form of a muscular woman carrying a spear made from the sun's rays. She hurls her light wherever it is necessary to vanquish foes and address threats before they sprout.

Relationships

Sebiste [ familiar ]

The red hawk swirls around the sun, never resting, always protecting the blade that forms its core. When he hears the notes of Sun's ocarina, he alights upon his patron's arm and judges whatever lies before him.

Lord Crow [ offspring ]

Sun does not leave his post and Crow is deeply involved in Earthly affairs, so they rarely meet. However, Sun watches her empires grow and approves.

Lord Moon [ partner ]

Moon is his counterpart and the blade on his hilt. Together they form an inpenetrable wall against the terrors of the far reaches. Although their communication is mostly limited to hawk-carried messages, Sun trusts him to speak for the both of them.
