Briarly Astarte Maxwell is a Primal disguised as a human skyfarer, serving as her Crew's alchemist and potion maker. In truth, she is the goddess of victory, Nike, but having fallen so far from the memory of her worshipers has made her powers weakened and frail. Once a representation of luck and success, its currently all Maxwell can do to cling to her immortality and magic. For now, she keeps her origins a secret from her companions, determined to shoulder this alone.

Maxwell is a stern and regal woman, coming across at first as rather unapproachable and cold. Seems like a lone wolf, but will accept company if you go forth and speak to her first. This is the shield she's built up in order to protect her from the scrutiny of others. She's deeply ashamed of the loss of her powers and has a complex about people thinking she's lesser for it. If she'd just let go of her guilt however and loosen up, she can be quite charming and a great conversationalist. Despite her front, Max is a hardworking tenacious skyfarer, always willing to pitch in and throw herself into whatever work needs to be done around the airship. She's definitely the kind of ally you'd want in a tight situation, on and off the battlefield.

Max is a cis intersex woman, and a huge lesbian.
