Karrda

Ex-bandit turned monk of the god of stone, most find this massive dragonborn quite imposing on first encounter. However, the intimidation tends to fade pretty quickly as one gets to know Karrda: she's a friendly and overtly optimistic (if a little thick-headed) person who, while obsessed with sparring and martial practice, resorts to violence only when provoked or to protect others.

While many see her shining silver scales as a sign of noble blood, Karrda knows nothing of her parentage. The clan of mountain bandits who raised her originally found her when she was still an egg, in the possession of a strange courier who seemed to be in a great hurry to get through their lands. The bandits had intended to sell the glittering egg for profit, until Karrda hatched from it the next day. Uninterested in the prospect of getting into the rare humanoid trafficking business, the bandits decided to instead raise the infant dragonborn as one of their own. By the time she was a teenager, she was large and strong enough to assist in extracting tolls from travelers on the mountain roads. She excelled at this, as most travelers, already exhausted from the journey in the rough terrain, would take one look at the towering silver dragon-person in front of them and quake in their boots. The bandits had found success like never before.

Until one day they stopped an old man on their path. He had very little in his possesion, but his fine silken robes made him a target for extortion regardless. Karrda stepped up to him and began her normal intimidation routine, but the next thing she knew, she was lying on the ground, barely conscious, as the rest of her party fled in fear of the man who took out one of their best fighters in the blink of an eye. The man remained and helped her up, explaining that he was a master monk of The Way of Stone, on pilgrimage. Amazed and inspired by the way she was so handily defeated, she asked the man if she could learn from him. He laughed, but agreed to take her back to the monastery to see if she had what it took.

Five years of meditation and studying of stone and martial techniques later, Karrda moves on from coaching acolytes on their basic forms and sets off on her own pilgrimage, to attain mastery by developing her own unique martial form through real-world experience.
