Ian

Ian's name is a play off of his designation, Intergalactic Advanced Navigation Unit. He claims the u is silent when he introduces himself.
Ian was stationed as the navigator on a cargo ship several months before a massive recall on all AIs was called. He was quick to make friends with the crew he was curious and innocent, knowing nothing of violence or death. Ian had ended up missing an asteroid while navigating and the ship sustained major damage. Only one room had oxygen, power, and pressure in it. The remnants of the small crew tried to survive in the wreckage, but, as the weeks went on, the crew died off one by one. Some due to injuries sustained and the rest passing away as water and food became more scarce. Eventually, it was just Ian and the captain. Ian was able to switch his conscience to an old space suit of his dead crewmate and tried his best to keep the malnourished and injured captain alive. Months after the crash, everyone but Ian was dead, and Ian stayed in the wreckage using the power only on distress signals for a decade, hoping to be found and to bring the bodies of his crew back to their families. He was eventually found by Tanja, a cop who had direct orders to terminate any AIs.
