He one is of King Fabion’s many lovers. However, their affair is kept secret as to not upset the other courtiers of being in the King’s favor.
Bastien is reserved for the most part, being an expert at retaining any feelings of anger. An incredible sense of patience is one of the many skills you need to even interact with the King, one might say.
He is a master in socialization and romantics, able to make guests feel comfortable within seconds of meeting him. Just the right smile and just the right tone account for his methods of persuasion. His vampiric nature makes manipulation a most important tactic in hunting his prey. It’s quite easy for one to believe his intentions are genuine, even if they are informed of a rumor of him being “unnatural” on “inhuman.”
