Faerith is Adela's fiancée

When she was only 13, Faerith lost her voice to an infection that nearly killed her. She communicates through sign language or by writing on a portable slate, assisted by some premade phrase cards she made when she got tired of having to write things out over and over. She trained as a blacksmith at the same artisan guild as Adela, and eventually the two eloped to start their own shop.
