About
Dexter Davekat is the son of Dave "Strider" Davekat and Karkat "Vantas" Davekat- and to anyone who knows of them, it's very plain to see that he's a direct relative. With bright red eyes and an even brighter red blood hue, the hybrid teen resembles his fathers only in appearance.
Dexter is the only hybrid to ever exist on the planet he inhabits, Earth C. Being a genetic amalgam of troll and human, he is unlike any other living being, and was the subject of experimentation before his birth. Given the circumstances of his life, one would assume that we was made via scientific means- but no, he was made completely naturally. At least, as natural he can be, when both of his parents are all powerful deities who helped create the universe with their friends.
Due to his speciality, Dexter's fathers tend to helicoptor him, much to his chagrin. The hybrid harbors immense distaste for his guardians, thinking them to be extremely lame, boring, and old. He distances himself from them, to both get on their nerves, and well as escape any reiteration of how "special" and "lucky" he is- because even though he is one of a kind, Dexter is a very insecure boy.
The teen, over anything else, absolutely adores the dark, grim, and "edgy". He loves red and black, loves making himself seem intimidating with spiked collars and ripped jeans, and loves making OCs with tragic backstories and overtly edgy designs. Dexter loves drawing a writing, and overall adores to use his creatvity to make, admittedly, pretty shitty content. Unlike his father Dave, however, Dexter is completely serious with everything he makes. What would he do without Animal I Have Become, or dark edgy Vocaloid songs?
Personality
Dexter is an extreme introvert, and very much keeps to himself. At first glance, he is a very sour person- a man with very few words, but a very nasty glare. He avoids strangers like the plague, and often resorts to insults and intimidation tactics if he's approached and not left alone. It's safe to say that he very much distrusts people he doesn't know- and easily puffs up if he feels threatened. He's in a constant up hill battle of wanting to seem cool to his peers, and wanting to seem dangerous and unapproachable by the same peers.
To people he does know, Dexter is the same, but different. Though he still harbors the same attempts to be intimdating and cool, he is much more talkative and willing to chat; though sometimes, he looks very uncomfortable with doing so. He still keeps a thick sheet of nastiness over his soft core, but with his friends and family, it's a slightly less thick sheet.
Under all of his layers of being stereotypically edgy and "cool", Dexter is extremely insecure, and fairly soft. He has major-self doubt over his own skills- he feels as if he's constantly in the shadow of his peers, be it his deity guardians, or his skilled friends. He believes that people only truly care about him for him being a hybrid, or for him just being related to more important people- thusly, he builds up the hard outer layer of distase and mistrust, wholly convincing himself that the people around him don't truly care about him.
Under it all, Dexter is a nervous, but very passionate individual. He is deathly loyal to his friends, and finds genuine love in them- even if he convinces himself that he doesn't. The teen is gentle with wildlife and puts extreme care into his creative endeavors, and lets out all of his insecurity and issues via it. He is constantly brimming with the urge to talk about his interests and make people just as obsessed as he is with them- but, of course, he keeps it all to himself.
Overall, Dexter is a boy who, despite all of his insecurity and gentleness, covers it all with layers and layers of hatred, distrust, and loathing. Outwardly, he is the prime definition of an average emo/scene teeanger, and loves media that reflects it. And even though he constantly reiterates that he's evil, and has a dark side, and will definitely obliterate you, he's simply just a teenager.
Aesthetic
Emo, scene, and anything inbetween. Think mid 2000's to early 2010's type media- warrior cats AMVs, creepypastas, and red and black OCs with god powers. Anything dark, with a color palette of reds, greys, and blacks (obviously). His aesthetic animal is the wolf and bat.
