Basic Info

name

Ashlynn

nickname

Ash

age

18

gender

trans male

orientation

homosexual

species

Plumerian

personality

He's neither introverted or extroverted and is very easy going most of the time. He gets along well with most other Plumerians and is often chosen as a mediator for his impartial judgements. He cares for his friends, but he has a very strong sense of right and justice and will allow it to come before friendships in some situations. Though he can put on a very well put together air, Ash is confused. He grew up thinking he hated his appearance, until he eventually came to understand that his problems stemmed from the fact that he was transgender. He has always been attracted to boys, and now also has to deal with the fact that he is gay. He is a realist though, and is working very hard on accepting himself as he knows that's the best way to go. He often comes off as shy or timid, but is a lot more open once he knows someone accepts him for who he is. His biggest pet peeve is people telling him that his hair is too feminine.

accessory

Ash wears a flower crown with a unicorn horn in it. It was given to him as a joke (and a euphemism) but he quite likes it and will wear it sometimes. It is not required that you draw either the horn or the crown if drawing him.

here and now

Ash is planning to attend college soon. He does not know what he will major in and wants to get more experience and try more things before he declares a major. He has always been a good student (by working hard rather than being inherently good at school) and plans to study hard and get good grades in college, but still leave time for fun.

Profile

This is the story I wrote to win Ash! The prompt was to write a fairy tale with timeless language and have it read like a children's book. The limit to write the story with was 250 words (this is 249). This story does not reflect Ash's actual history beyond the fact that his father took a lot of convincing to accept his identity.

ONCE UPON A TIME a treaty older than memory united the forest centaurs and the river kelpies, stipulating their rule by a unicorn king. Countless wars between them showed the king that a breach of treaty was needed to separate them before they tore each other asunder. Each time his pegasus queen fell pregnant he prayed for a unicorn son to rule the neighboring land at his side.

Five pegasi daughters were born, each spurned by the king, before he admitted defeat. He traveled far from his home to find a fitting unicorn for his eldest to marry, but each refused to marry into war. Enraged, he called upon their Goddess. When She appeared to him he shared his anger, but She merely smiled and said, "I have given you what you asked for."

He pondered Her response for weeks until his eldest came to him, timid but sure. "I have always been a unicorn," Ash told him. "I am not meant to fly. I have begged the Goddess to give me a horn, but She punishes us both for your refusal to see what She has given you."

The king broke down, finally understanding the wrong he had done by ostracizing his children. The Goddess smiled from above the scene, and a calming light descended upon Ash. Wings melted into the glow, and a beautiful flower crown adorned with a unicorn horn coalesced on Ash's head. They ruled peacefully ever after, Ash's horn displayed proudly always. THE END
