Profile

Personality

Evelynn is a young, polite person who loves hanging around more... quiet places. Although she's sociable to most people in her daily life, she's actively forcing herself to do so, feeling the pressures from society and family to be a normal, outgoing girl. In reality, she prefers being by herself, because it makes it easier for her to think and put her creative side to work. When this side of her comes out, she gets entirely absorbed in her work, whatever it is she is doing.

While in the Labyrinths of Mazehart, Evelynn adopts the alter-ego of the "Phantom Fairy", a masked individual who, due to the power of her persona, gains a wing-shaped aura that starts black on the outside, but has the colours of an open flame on the inside. She uses her forced communicative skills to effectively communicate with those who are tagging along with her, all the while maintaining a safe, comfortable distance from them, socially speaking. She also doesn't feel the need to force a smile as much, leading to a more neutral and natural expression on her face. Ironically, while wearing a mask, her true personality springs to life in the Labyrinths of Mazehart, ready for adventure.

Background

Eve grew up in a big family, having about 6 siblings. Most of her siblings are younger than her, and she had to take care of them for most of her life. Up until she was about 6 years old, Eve loved doing things that are considered 'creative'. Singing, dancing, arts and crafts, those types of things. But, as she entered the combined third and fourth grade at her primary school, her parents started working full-time again, leaving her as the one responsible enough to take care of the younger siblings. Due to this, she had to restrain her childhood interests, her creative side, as she calls it, which lead to her feeling a bit... restricted, growing up.

As she grew older, her parents, more and more, kept pushing the responsiblity of taking care of her younger siblings onto Eve, which meant she had to work hard at keeping up the housework that comes with such a responsibilty. She also got skipped over a lot when it came to small presents and such, her parents giving these to the younger children while expecting Eve to "Be mature about it." This is something she begrudgingly forced herself to be, not knowing any better, something which would lead to her forming her first mask. The one of the older, responsible sister.

As she entered middle school, more masks started forming, to fit in. The one of the 'fashion-sensible teen', the one who was "No longer interested in all that girly stuff.". the mask that was wearing a continuous big, cheeky grin. Deep down, however, she was miserable. As an act of rebellion, she basically started dawdling on the way home from school, saving up what little bits of money she got from her parents for taking care of the others to buy herself a sketchbook that she started drawing things in. Things she saw on her dalliances home. Ponds with ducks in them. A man walking his dog... the bees pollinating things when spring and summer roll around. The simple things in life. This helped her cope through her teenage years.

Eventually, she became old enough for a job. She found one, a job as a waitress in a pancake house, in a nearby city called Mazehart. A place where, very recently, chasms formed in the ground. Holes filled with monsters and untold treasures... While at first, she withstood the call of investigating, due to having her old life waiting for her, Eve is getting more and more curious about what's truly in these holes, and those curious people that constantly gather at the abandoned warehouse... could this be her first chance at freedom...?
