A privately created mutant who was abandoned on the street when he didn't meet the criteria of his design document. He is not actually a lemur, but a slow loris/snake hybrid, with powerfully soporific venom. He grew up being bounced from institution to foster home to the streets, and wasn't properly cared for due to his unknown species heritage. He now works security for Neura Tokse, and his health is steadily improving after discovering his actual species and caring for himself appropriately.

Personality

Vigil has a serious, reserved personality. He is soft-spoken but assertive, refusing to let anyone disregard his wishes. He has a somehwat stunted sense of humour, tending to ignore jokes rather than respond.

History

Like many black market mutants, Vigil was created in a lab using cell cultures and grown from an embryo. The process isn't always successful-- and in his case, it resulted in a genuine hybrid that lacked the lethal venom his commissioner wanted. Rejected by the people who paid for him, and having little place in the lab itself, he was handed over to the foster care system, labelled as an orphaned lemur.

Vigil grew up believing wholeheartedly that he was, in fact, some kind of lemur. He was a sickly child, tense and anxious at all times, hardly able to sleep and always, always hungry. He struggled to make friends, or to even summon the energy to play on his own; books and videogames provided some relief, but only so far as he could focus.

After aging out of foster care, Vigil turned to petty crime as a way of surviving. His health issues persisted, making it hard to hold down a job, so he struggled to pull himself out of the hole he was in for several years. He fell into mugging tourists for cash to feed himself, which worked up until he tried to mug the wrong person. The big guy hit him with a tranquiliser dart, and Vigil woke up confused and shackled to a hospital bed.

Fortunately for Vigil, he'd made the mistake of trying to rob one of the only people on the planet who could both recognise what he actually was, and do something about it. VX stabilised him, diagnosed his issues with digesting plant matter, and set him up with a job working security for a good friend of his. Vigil walked out of that encounter healthier, far less stressed, and deeply confused by the sudden turn of events.

Current Day

Vigil has remained in Neura's employ since he was initially hired; they both relate to each others' experience of being an outcast in society at large, and Neura pays him well and always makes sure he has what he needs to be comfortable. He's a little leery of her newer errand boy, but he tolerates his presence.
