born of the desert, captured in a slave-raid when he was 15 or so, he was sold into noble homes in which he was deemed not suitable for servitude, and sentenced to execution after making an attempt on the life of the head of the household that kept him. the king, however, was charmed by his fiery, feral nature and took him under his wing, grooming him into an endlessly loyal right hand man -- and eventually military commander -- as well as a long-term secret lover.
now that the king has passed, he is forced to guide the prince into a throne he does not want and is poorly suited for while struggling with the loss of his rock, and he's sort of falling apart and seeking comfort in questionable places
