-PHANTOM's childhood friend, grew up in the same crappy outside-the-dome neighborhood.
-neighborhood labeled eminent domain for the city to expand
-protests about the neighborhood being demolished brought them into altercations with the police (Lefebvre)
-PHANTOM was hospitalized there, but XYZoul stayed behind
-a lot of shit went down at the neighborhood bulldozing, people kidnapped for science experiment purposes (at C3?)
-any siblings?  are they still around??  what happened to them/the rest of the community?
-XYZoul ends up being the only person to survive this experimentation (for brain uploading)
-brain uploading takes time (it's a lot of data and the tech is new and sucks), so it took years for them to really get a grasp on their new sense of self
-injuries from protest/conditions of experimentation/wasteland air has caused long-term damage, though. basically bedridden even when not a science experiment
-faking being braindead perhaps????
-has not let C3 on to how successful their experiment was, out of spite.  sneaks online and learns things this way.  discovered coding?  the prodigy hacker cyberpunk archetype
-no financial opportunities outside hacking work, which is come and go.  not that they can get away with much, being locked inside a lab, anyway
-what's their surrounding network like?  friends?  android friends?  probably keeps to weirder/niche spaces (unlike Future Sound trying to spread their word)
-became a sort of online symbol due to their hacktivism regardless.  this bothers them slightly because they don't want C3 catching on
-doesn't realize PHANTOM is their childhood friend.  but when they do they'll definitely want to reconnect.
-do they even have a name besides XYZoul??
-gender is nebulous, xe/xem?
