Spoilers for Part 6: Stone Ocean!!!

(This is a bit of an AU)

As a result of one of the resets, a split timeline was created in the chaos. Instead of Jolyne, the child was named Josie. As a baby her family was killed, and she was stolen from them by the 'reincarnation' of Enrico Pucci, who retained some of his memories from before the reset. He raised her, and lied and gaslighted her for as long as she was with him. He claimed that he had been a close friend to her family, especially to her father (whom she knew next to nothing about). In this split timeline all the Joestars' deeds are well-known, and they were, and are considered to be great heroes. As the only surviving descendant, Josie was seen as a miracle. Reset-Pucci took full advantage of this. He made certain she was always in the lime-light, a child celebrity, and forced into a fate before her first word. Pucci insisted there was a prophecy involving her, that she would save the world, and as such, she was hailed as a savior.

A cult began to manifest as a result from these lies. They viewed her as a deity, or a messiah of some sort. They were borderline ravenous, and obsessive over her and what was known of her family. From this cult came Babylon (the reset-Anasui), a very devoted follower with a specific infatuation for Josie. She encountered him in unpleasant circumstances, as he had been stalking her. The two started to fight, him revealing his stand, and suddenly hers as well. Hotel California, her newfound stand, defended her. And she made it safely away.

She would later encounter Babylon again, and during their fight, explain that she had began to doubt Pucci, how she was under constant pressure, sheltered, lied to, and that she knew that there was no prophecy. Upon hearing this, he was understanding, and apologized profusely for how he had behaved. She was reluctantly forgiving, but tried to understand as he had been raised from a young child in the cult. Following this, they became friends in secret. Babylon was her only friend for a long time, and ultimately became her boyfriend.

Pucci caught wind of someone speaking to Josie; he wasn't sure of the details, but he had definite suspicion. Due to this growing paranoia, he hired a bodyguard, someone to keep her in check. This man, Angelo (Reset-Wes Bluemarine/Weather Report), his own brother that he had no knowledge of. Angelo despised Josie to begin with- believing she was caught up in her fame, pretentious, and arrogant. But upon growing closer he realized she wasn't at all like that, and was caught up in some cruel scheme. He saw that she wanted freedom and promised to help her however he could.

Angelo helped Josie to see Babylon again, and the three discussed plans to escape and inform everyone about the lies they had been told. Unfortunately, Pucci discovered this plan and assumed it was entirely Babylon's fault. And the next time he met with Josie, Pucci killed Babylon in front of her, showing no mercy and insisting that it was in her best interest not to talk to 'evil outsiders'.

Her heart, broken, she knew now without a doubt that Pucci was evil, or at least, aimed all of his hatred towards her. She was devastated, and in the wake of the agony, she asked Angelo to help her kill Pucci. He agreed in earnest, also hurt by the loss of his peculiar friend.

In little detail, Angelo and Josie managed to ambush Pucci, and killed him in a slow and violent way. But afterwards, as Josie searched to find more about the truth, she discovered that he had killed her family. Most devastating was the news that her older sister, of only six, was killed in the wake of it all.

Everything she learned post-Pucci's death sent her spiraling. She couldn't control herself or her stand. She became delusional and enraged- acting out in violence at the usual paparazzi. Several people were killed. Once things were quiet, she fell to the ground, sobbing, fearful, aware of what she had done with no ability to change it. She never intended to hurt others, she never meant to be the villain. She pleaded with Angelo to kill her, but he refused.

She was taken then, by the remaining SPW foundation that had been laying low. They determined that they would be responsible for her imprisonment.

That's a quick summary!

A few things-

Josie is quick tempered, but keeps it under the surface, acting polite and passive aggressive. She isn't aware of everything, having been sheltered to keep her from realizing she was being manipulated. This does not mean she is stupid, she's just having to learn about things that had been kept from her. She does not trust, if she befriends anyone it is because they have proven to her that they will not betray her. She has few real interests, mostly being forced to practice and prepare for appearances and interviews. She is curious, but tentatively. There is both a deep loneliness and a burning rage in her core. This makes her stand manifest in two forms. The loneliness- Hotel California, and her rage- House of the Rising Sun, which coordinate with night and day, respectively.
