Io is a demon who fused with a robotic body. They're cocky, mischevious, and think they're evil (they're like, mid-tier evil at most...)

They are a fan of pranks and has haunted the nearby woods in attempt to take it over before they got stuck. But they've seemingly toned-down on them afterwards

Io won't admit it, but eventually they cared less about taking over the land and actually want to learn and live in it.

Design Notes

  • Height: 5'6" (normal) - 6'10 (half-demon)
    - 11' (true form)
  • Their posture is hunched-over and "beast-like"
  • Their earpieces, tail & wings can move based on their mood
  • content
  • !!! Demonic!Io is not a Megaman OC/Reploid! Please don't confuse this with Reploid!Io

Abilities

  • The floating wing-like panels and the one on the tip of their tail can be charged with energy to the point they can cut through objects with ease (they're also pretty sharp on their own!)
  • Robots in this world charge via solar energy. The aforementioned panels also serve as solar panels
  • Tail is prehensile and can extend up to 10ft
  • On physical weaknesses, overwhelming amounts of electricity will cause them pain & drain their energy. Common demon weaknesses (ie: Holy water & artifacts) can also hurt them.
  • They have a 'half-demon' state, in which their appearence gets slightly-closer to their true form (ie: larger horns, spiky tail, larger/functional wings). They're physically stronger & act more beast-like in this state. And they can use some magic like casting illusions. However, using this drains a ton of energy and often leaves them inactive afterwards

The Beginnings

It started with a rift, and a game. The goal was haunt and have the region on the surface world where it had opened under their grasp before anyone else could. And Io wanted to prove they could do it, solo.

It was 22XX when they had come through the rift. At the time, humans were well equiped to defend against the demons' games in case things were to escalate from harmless fun to harm (as many demon games went). Robots were built to defend the now scattered towns from such threats.

Io had managed to steer clear of both robots and any other surface-world defences and terrorized the forest. The local human town, being unable to leave or recieve resources because of them grew fed up and lead a hunt to slay them once and for all.

They couldn't take on all of them, so they ran and ended up in robot construction workshop with an unfinished unit inside...

An Irreversible Misake

For a demon, possession is an unpleasant experience and difficult to perform. It's seen as the last resort if they really need to hide or seize control. One slip up in the spell and they could end up permenantly fusing with their target instead of puppeteering it

After seeing no means to escape, Io had no option but to hide in the unfinished unit. But in rushing the spell they found themselves fused, drained of energy, and were captured promptly afterwards.

The village didn't want to destory them since they couldn't afford to build another unit, and made many attempts at exorcising the demon. All were fruitless.

Aftermath

Io is still on uneasy terms with villagers after being reactivated. They were only allowed to stay on the conditions they don't cause harm, they don't distrupt shipments and travel in/out of the town, and join in defending the town against other demons that may come. (slaying demons didnt bother them, they just didn't like being told what to do by surface dwellers)

They deny it's happened and claim they still want to 'rise up', but they've started to take a liking to the surface world and stopped bothering with their plans to rule the woods outside of fighting off other demons that invade.
