While he is not running a cult on earth, in his office job he was known as a clumsy slacker, and no one believed he could ever start his own cult of followers. In his office job in the god realm, he appears as incompetent, sleezey, and basically a fuckup. He doesn't put a lot of effort into his appearance.
No one can really figure out how he was promoted to become a god in the living world, but people have a hunch that he cheated to get there.
