Khaz started out happy enough, had a family that loved him, but perhaps a bit too over-protective for his liking as a kid, he had the itch to explore!!!
by unfortunate circumstances that weren't revealed to him until later, he got his wish of being an adventurer after his parents were killed in their sleep.
He traveled the lands of 'Saurian' with his reluctant caretaker Nommy, an adventuring, bright blue carnotaurus. Raising a child out in the wilds was no easy feat, and it was met with constant challenges, not just parenting-wise, but from other threats as well! Kidnapped by bandits barely 24 hours into the start of his new life as a wandering traveler.
Nommy was able to track the bandits down in time to fight with their chief, but it ended up being Khaz of all dinos to land the killing blow, much to everyone's surprise, including his own!!
Witnessing death so close, and by his own hands no less, however was an extremely difficult burden to suddenly bare. He didn't want to continue on, until he met with the wise sauropods of Salthaven, and having a long conversation with the elder of the settlement, as well as her heir, and Nommy.
He continued on his adventures with the blue carno, and his next memorable story to tell was far more pleasant! Meeting Pilu the velociraptor, and partaking in a harvest festival in the small town of Clawwood.
The rest of his adventures from then on out were grand, and he has no shortage of stories to tell, from meeting the shadow wizard, rescuing a Duke Wiles' wife, accidentally saving King Cherish's life when he knocked over a glass of wine laced with poison, and many many more crazy tales! Between adventures him and Nomminus would return to Clawwood, they'd both become quite fond of Pilu and her adoptive-father, Chompy.
Once Khaz was older, however, and despite the grandness and heroics of his adventures, his heart was darkening. His attacks grew more violent, every swing of his blade or firing of an arrow carried with it the intent to kill or maim, rather than disarm. This of course filled Nommy with concern, but she had absolutely no clue how to go about dealing with it, and ended up leaving him be. Probably not the best idea.
The duo eventually set sail across the seas, to a landmass that was once abandoned by the saurian people due to a large volcano, and never returned to.
There they were surprised to find abundant life!! Strange creatures covered in fur, rather than the scales and feathers that were all so common back home. There was the rescuing of a chieftain's daughter, discovering Pilu had made the voyage across to join them, a large-scale battle over land between two tribes, and if that wasn't enough in what this place had to offer, before setting home again, a dragon awakes from his slumber and goes on a rampage, killing and devouring just about anyone he can get his claws on.
The dragon was eventually defeated, Khaz chose to return home with Pilu, parting ways with Nommy after all those years.
Upon his return, he learned that Pilu had taken up her father's role as leader of a thieves guild, he joined in, and tried to run jobs, however he was a little too quick to kill the targets if they got caught sneaking around.
Because of this knack of sacking targets and clients - not always on purpose. Pilu suggested Khaz try working for the assassins guild that they had ties with.
And so he did! The leader took a liking to him, and Khaz quickly became a favourite to send out on jobs.
