Micah

Personality
Micah is clumsy and easily excitable, likely due to his ADHD, which he takes Adderall for. However, he doesn't always remember to do so when he's rushing out of the house — constantly late for all manners of things — which results in him being a constant rambler. Because of the lack of a mother figure in his life, the Dik-dik sort of adopted a motherly nature, which shows up from time to time; all other times, however, he's his usual cheery self, trying to follow the rules but usually winding up in trouble anyhow. He does fret and worry quite a bit, though half the time it's him overreacting. Micah is incredibly loyal to all his friends and will stick with them through thick and thin. Due to his small stature and non-intimidating appearance, he's prone to being teased by them, but it's all in good fun. According to his father, the Dik-dik has a knack for getting stuck with the wrong crowd — since his friends are all predator animals — but he's quite a good judge of nature. On occasion, he may let his immaturity show — the product of growing up too fast — but he generally has a tight rein on such things, opting to be the more mature one of the group, even though he lacks the commanding demeanor for it. Overall, he loves to talk and make new friends, a huge sweetheart and pushover.

Backstory
Micah grew up in a little, nameless town, largely suburban, but crowded like a city. He spent most of his early life there, living in a comfortable little home, the only child of a Mule Deer(?) father and a Dik-dik mother.

However, his mother passed away due to an unknown disease. Micah was still very young at the time, so while her death did not traumatize him, he did not take it well; he still has many fond memories of her and can recall her easily in his mind. His father, on the other hand, was hit hard, causing the once-proud buck to succumb to alcoholic tendencies, which he's still trying to overcome to this day. Though it was difficult to cope with his mother's passing, especially without much of his father's assistance, the event forced the Dik-dik to grow up quickly and almost take over his mother's role in the family. He grew very accustomed to taking care of others, a skill he used to help his father slowly recover. Years passed before Micah's father was well enough to return to being head of the police force in their small town and by then, Micah was already in middle school.

While his dad wasn't always there for him, Micah still wound up being a brilliant, hard-working student. Despite his silly antics and goofy grin, he was quite clever; not the smartest student in class but academics was something he naturally excelled in. High school was when he felt his life changing for the better. It'd thrown him into a new, different environment, and being an only child who craved affection and companionship for most of his life, he was always eager to make friends. It was during this time that Micah met his best friend, Mihr, a German Shepherd with a heart of gold. The duo was inseparable, worming their way into the hearts of many others, so by the time they graduated, they were a pack of six...plus one.

This "plus one" was Ezekiel, a Black Timber Wolf who was older than most of the current group but an occasional presence due to him being Mihr's cousin. Micah was immediately enamored with him and since he was pretty much an open book, his friends picked up on it immediately and teased him relentlessly about it when the wolf wasn't around...though the Dik-dik's dad was. The Mule Deer, now fully back in his son's life, took an instant disliking towards Ezekiel. After all, what father in the right mind would trust their prey animal son hanging out with an older, fierce-looking predator? Not this police chief of a father.

Though he did voice his concerns to Micah, the sheriff ultimately didn't stop his son from continuing to hang out with Ezekiel and the rest of his "pack." He knew Micah was trying to make up for the years of growing up without a real family, and the Mule Deer wasn't about to be the one to take it away from him. Even when the Dik-dik announced to his father he would be attending college in the city — where he knew a certain Black Timber Wolf lived — he merely let him go with the promise of visiting home often. (If he somewhat threatened Mihr with the task of keeping an eye on his son, well, Micah didn't have know.)


Gangels AU
In this universe, Micah dies in his college years, a result of a hit-and-run incident involving other students who may have been partying too hard. Because of his small stature and the force of the impact, the Dik-dik's death is quick and painless, and he reincarnates as an angel. Unfortunately, it's not as painless for those around him.

His father immediately relapses and this time, he does not recover. His best friend, Mihr, cannot fight the downward spiral into depression, even with the rest of their pack's support; the Dik-dik's death breaks them, causing most of them to drift apart, as well. Without anyone to lean on, both the Mule Deer and the German Shepherd don't live long after. Micah watches them slowly waste away over the course of about a year and can't help but cry when they join him in the afterlife with wings of their own. He'd never been so upset to reunite with two of the people he loves most, immediately berating them for not taking care of themselves and living long, healthy lives, all while crushing them both in the tightest hugs he can manage.
