Traugott Vanhal

Being the second born in a royal family was tough. His parents had been more harsh on him than they were to his older brother, Cheveyo. He always had to do more to please his parents, he picked up after the slack of Cheveyo, and was always in his shadow.

Many years of this passed, and with every year Traugott grew more vicious and cold hearted. He started to take more authority, to his parents dismay. He eventually murdered his parents in cold blood, and Cheveyo was too late to stop him.

Stumbling into their room, Cheveyo saw his two parents laying dead under Traugott, covered in blood and wielding a sword. In a fit of rage, Cheveyo grabbed the nearest sharp object and lunged at him, and they fought for hours.

The battle resulted in Traugott’s loss. Enraged, he stormed out and ran away from the city, vowing to get his revenge someday for all the years of being second fiddle. Cheveyo, with nothing left, left the city as well and headed to the plains.

The two grew sick, and got bedridden for months. They were the first case of the Dream Monster Curse in recorded history, and their fate started a chain reaction.

The curse spread to those mentally insane, Dream Monsters began to form across the land, causing mass hysteria and death.

Taking it upon themselves, Traugott and Cheveyo formed two factions: The Zadok and the Anzon. Traugott lead the Zadok, a group of Dream Monsters who had malicious intent. Cheveyo lead the Anzon, a group of Dream Monsters who had been unfortunate, and turned into cursed beings through horrible circumstances.

War waged between the two groups for hundreds of years, the Zadok clan wanted total control while the Anzon clan wanted to live in peace with the uncursed. Traugott had believed they wouldn’t be accepted into society, and the uncursed wanted to destroy all of them, even the Anzon. The conflict between the two leaders was fierce, and after hundreds of years the Zadok had to retreat underground.

Traugott, wanting the best for his people, stands by his goal to get rid of all who do not accept his kind. He is one of the most powerful and oldest Dream Monsters living on Tortunia. Nobody knows how truly long he will live, as he still remains after his face had even rotted away after a wound turned to infection and ate away at his flesh. His eyes are hollow, only glints of the light from his Dream Monster eyes shows through.
