Godelieve Gundestrup

The proud daughter of two fearsome clan leaders that decided to extend their loyalty to their new countrymen. Sent as a sign of good will to the Mages of Namaraste to train, the first of her people to do so, but certainly not the last, as strong magic runs in their veins. 

Stern, Humorless, Workaholic 

Godelieve was born in the southern wilds of Ivras to the Gundestrup Clan, a family of wild mages. Her childhood was spent at her mothers' knees, learning the clan lore and politics of their tumultuous home. It was expected that she would make something of herself, and become a representative of her clan when her mothers were no longer able to do so. But it would not work out quite so cleanly. 

Ivras was a fledgling nation, determined to unite and utilize the wealth of mages it had been blessed with. The Gundestrup Clan was not blind to these advancements, and though they were loathe to be controlled, they were savvy politicians. As a sign of peace, they offered to send Godelieve and two other Gundestrup children to Namarast for training under the order mages. On the surface, it was a remarkably successful show of goodwill. Between the lines, it was a sign that they believed in the abilities of mages, and that the clan's loyalty lay with them. 

Godelieve, seventeen at the time, was a model student. Her mind was voracious, her drive nigh unstoppable. She made herself a formidable pupil, and was mentored by the best the order had to offer.
