Acihkos

Acihkos (Cree for fawn) was one of the Stolen Band, a mixed group of canines who made their escape from human captivity within a traveling circus. Led by Mahkesis, the group escaped the moving train car that held them prisoner, fleeing into the woods and running for days before daring to rest. Weeks into their exile, now close to starvation due to a lack of wild hunting experience, the odd grroup were discovered by Ahasow, lead scout of the wolf pack known as Saskan, who welcomed the wandering misfits into what would become their forever home.

Other members of the Stolen Band include Mahkesîs, Iskotêw, and Kistikân.

Acihkos is an Ethiopian wolf, a rare canid native to a small range in east Africa, captured as a pup and sold to the circus as a rare oddity. Though she lacked any survival skills or knowledge of the wild world, she and the rest of the Stolen Band were supported by the wolves of Saskan, given time to heal and then led through extensive training on how to survive the northern Canadian wilderness.
