Brisingr

A half dragon assassin known for his social inaptitude and all around grumpyness, Brisingr is not the most loveable figure and definitely has a semi-permanent murder face. He grew up with his dragon father, Lendys, being taken from his mother at a young age. He was raised to be self-sufficient and left at a young age, wanting see the world even though his father did not want that. Lendys knew how the world, or more so humans, looked at anything dragon related and feared for what his son would find. And he was right in his fear.

Brisingr soon learned that humans despised dragons and when they found out about his heritage (which was easy, seeing his eyes and the visible scales on his face. When in human territory he was often met with suspicion and all around hatred. It wasn't uncommon for him to have rotten fruits or even rocks thrown at him. This is when he realised he could never call the human world his home. He ventured to other parts of the world and was met with the same hatred in most of the human populated parts. Humans seemed to be the only ones harbouring these feeling though. Elves, vampire, dwarves and demons did not feel the same way. By this time his social skills had already taken a big punch though and trust was something he did not give easily. He realised that his dragon genes made him faster and more agile than any other race, stronger as well. In order to survive, he turned to the fighting scene. Later, he started thieving as well. His soon became known in the underworld for his skills and people were willing to pay for his 'services'. So he did what he did best. Eventually, he caught the eye of Danathen who offered him a contract which Brisingr took.

Brisingr seems cold and distant when you first meet him, a classic grump. This impression isn't entirely wrong. He is not good at social interaction and prefers people to keep their distance, both physically and emotionally. Most of this stems from his interactions with others, which weren't the best, to put it lightly. It's also because he does not know how social interactions work. He doesn't get them and he doesn't know how to portray himself. He generally also doesn't care how he portrays himself. An assassin is an assassin and he doesn't need anybody's approval (except for his dads, but Lendys loves him unconditionally no matter what). 

Despite him coming across this way, should you get the rare chance to get to know him, you can see how scarred the world has made him. He will be awkward and insecure about what he does and says around you, but only if he actually starts caring. This hardly ever happens, but there are rare instances in which he would let his guard down around certain people. Other than his father, there may be one or two people around to actually have seen this side of him. It rarely happens.
