FRIENDLY . EXTROVERTED . CARING

Very much a people person, Amy's got talent in socializing and networking. She's always looking for new friends to make, and as a whole prefers interaction over isolation. She's rather carefree, and while she doesn't exactly wear her heart on her sleeve, she's open and extroverted. She can easily see and accept both the good and bad sides of people, and weighs them both equally, prefering to reserve judgement on others. As a single child growing up, she gets lonely easily, and thus seeks out company to spend her time with. It's not hard to get in her good graces, as she grows fond of people easily. When she becomes comfortable, however, she can become rather spoiled as she bathes in the care given to her by others.

WITTY . CURIOUS . INDECISIVE

Despite her tendency to come off as ditzy, Amy is a rather intelligent individual. She's witty and is quick on her feet, and has a sense of humor to boot. She's incredibly curious, and has a need to understand why and how things work. This makes her a little hard to deal with when it comes to respecting authority, however, as she tends to question orders she receives. This also makes her a rather indecisive individual when it comes to more practical issues such as education or career. Because she needs to understand things to the finest detail before making decisions, she's prone to missing opportunities due to hesitation.

ADVENTUROUS . HEADSTRONG . CRASS

When it comes to her every day life, Amy is a bit of an adrenaline junkie, the type to charge headfirst into things without looking back. She's adventurous and always on the lookout for new and interesting experiences. The type to constantly try to expand her world-view. Similarly, she's rather headstrong when it comes to interacting with others, and has a bad habit of dismissing other people's suggestions in favor of her own wants. She's also not the most delicate person, crass in manner and ways of speaking. Doesn't do all that well in formal events.

About

Just your normal average kid from California. She grew up as the only child in a Chinese household in a middle-class neighborhood in the Bay area. She went to Chinese weekend schools. She learned ballet and piano. She was sent to private tutors. Parents who treated her like a trophy to be shown off to relatives and family friends. A school that only rewarded the top percent. Classmates that would hide ambition and envy under the guise of friendship.

And through it all Amy seemed to take the spotlight. No matter where she went, eyes would follow. She wracked up achievements one after another, and each time she climbed a wrung in the ladder, it only seemed to get taller.

She turns to music for comfort, catharsis in the form of blasting speakers and the heat of the stagelights. If she couldn't escape people's watchful gaze, then she'd give them a reason not to tear their eyes away. So long as she kept up her grades and played nice in front of her relatives and family friends, her parents turned a blind eye despite their disapproval.

She lives an uneventful life. After graduating from highschool valedictorian, she attends an established university for a 4-year degree that would satisfy her parents' high standards. She pulls herself through the monotony of it all, music remaining her only comfort.

Amy keeps in touch with a cousin through the years, one who'd moved overseas to pursue his dreams in becoming a singer when they were both in highschool. His messages encourage her and fill her with envy. How nice it must be to know yourself, to know what it's like to have a dream.

She thinks she wants to do the same.

The Strange and Unusual

A/N: In many verses, Amy is a completely normal student who suddenly finds herself dropped into a series of strange, unusual, and oftentimes supernatural occurences. In these stories, she embodies the beauty and comfort that comes in the mundane and familiar.

Child of the Sun

A/N 2: In many verses, Amy dies at a very young age (generally before she can graduate from university). In these stories, she often carries themes of the fleetingness of youth, the struggles of adulthood, and ties together death with the concept of growing up.
