**Personality**
Algie is a fiercely independent and sharp-witted dragon, shaped by a lifetime of rejection and struggle. She has developed a tough exterior, using sarcasm and bluntness to mask her insecurities. Beneath this hardened shell, however, is a dragon who desperately craves acceptance, though she refuses to admit it.
She is determined, hardworking, and endlessly stubborn. She pushes herself beyond her limits, believing that if she is strong and useful enough, the SandWing Queen and her court will finally see her as more than just a freakish hybrid. But no matter how much she achieves, she never feels it is enough.
Trust is something Algie does not give easily. She has been betrayed and ridiculed too many times, making her wary of others’ intentions. While she may act indifferent, she deeply fears abandonment and being cast aside once again. Those who manage to break through her walls will find an incredibly loyal and protective friend—someone who will fight to the bitter end for those she cares about.
Algie has a quick temper and doesn’t hesitate to snap back at those who insult her, but underneath her fiery attitude is a dragon who is just tired of being treated like she doesn’t belong. She struggles with self-acceptance, unable to see her unique traits as anything but flaws.
**Backstory**
Algie’s story began before she even hatched. Her egg was touched by animus magic—why or by whom remains unknown—but it caused a mutation that would set her apart forever. Born to a RainWing mother and a SeaWing father, Algie should have been a blend of both tribes, but instead, she emerged with a feature neither parent carried: a deadly SandWing barb.
Her parents, shocked and confused, feared what this unnatural trait meant. RainWings had no use for such a weapon, and SeaWings had no history of such mutations. Whispers of dark magic surrounded her birth, and though her parents tried to love her, the tribe did not welcome an oddity like her. The RainWings, uninterested in raising a dragonet who could not camouflage like them, distanced themselves. The SeaWings had no reason to claim her either.
As she grew, it became clear that her mutation made her dangerous. Other dragonets avoided her, frightened of what she might become. Even her parents became distant, unsure of how to handle her. Eventually, they made the painful decision to leave her with the SandWings, believing that a tribe accustomed to venomous tails might accept her.
But the SandWings did not see her as one of their own. Instead, she was treated as an outsider, a hybrid freak with a stolen feature. The Queen allowed her to stay, but only under the condition that she make herself useful.
Determined to survive, Algie trained relentlessly, pushing herself to master combat, strategy, and survival skills. She excelled, proving her worth time and time again, yet it was never enough. No matter how strong she became, no matter how much she served the Queen, she was still seen as different.
Now, Algie walks a fine line between proving herself and knowing she may never truly belong. She remains in the SandWing court, hoping that one day she will be accepted—but deep down, she wonders if she is just fooling herself.
Would she ever find a place where she wasn’t just tolerated, but truly wanted?
**Algie’s Role as a SandWing Warrior**
Algie has become a formidable warrior, standing out not only for her combat skills but also for her rare ability to swim and spit venom—traits inherited from her SeaWing father and RainWing mother. While her barb is common among SandWings, her unique abilities make her an asset in battle, allowing her to take on missions others cannot. Despite proving her worth time and again, she still struggles to be seen as more than a tool for the Queen, yearning to be valued for who she is, not just her skills.
