Legend says she'll share her jewels with the pure of heart.... Legend is dumb. Like heck she's gonna share with some random who comes along.

It's a little odd that a girl in such a nice dress lives in a cave and that she mostly appears in front of men exhausted and delirious. Perhaps that's where the legend started? She wasn't sure, but it mattered little. All the men would play nice and so would she... for a bit. It was very clear to her no one cared about her personally. Still, it was very boring in a cave by herself. At least toying around with these jerks was a bit of fun.

Sometimes Chrysoberyl gets lonely. That's understandable. She spends a lot of time polishing stones until they glimmer. All her jewels were hand-carved and set by her. Even when she's especially lonely though, many encounters with those she catches lost in the cave are unsatisfying. Those who don't know the legend are annoying anyway, always whining about wanting to get out. She convinces herself she doesn't need to interact with others because they're all terrible anyway. She thought this for years before something, *ahem*, someone happened.

Chrysoberyl can't remember much of anything about this person, but she was sweet and wonderful and perfect. She... helped bandage up her leg after a particularly bad fall. They talked for a bit, but the lady had to leave. The rest of the crew would miss her she said. Chrysoberyl sent her off with a handful of small jewels, but she immediately felt regretful despite it being the first time in a long while that she had helped someone with no malicious intent... And it wasn't because she had parted with some of her favorite pieces.

Presently, Chrysoberyl is always secretly hoping that particular human will come back, but she's not pushing for it. She's patient. If they are fated to know one another, it will happen.
