Alus was a human till he came across the three elementals making the Mistians (Elemental Stones). His soul was pulled from his body and placed into what would have been Als'cthan Mistian. There his soul sat in limbo for years until he met Sema who could hear him. Years later Alus would be able to form himself into a ghost to appear in the living world.
