Profile

Delphi (she/her)

Age: 22

Orientation: Demisexual (she’s not set in stone here but this is what she tells people)

Occupation: Student

Hobbies: Ceramics, Reading Modernist Poetry, Collecting neat rocks (sometimes she paints them but she doesn’t have much practice), Wednesday nights she volunteers at an old folks home and plays cards or does crafts with the residents, if she has to she will bring her sister along, although she complains on the way there she usually begrudgingly joins in, going to poetry readings

Responsibilities: lives at home with her mom and her younger sister, her mom works constantly w/ lots of overtime, and her sister, 14, is her own bundle of insecurities, drama and sass. She usually makes their meals and takes her sister to school.

Setbacks: Delphi struggles with depression, and while she feels like she finally has some control of her life, she can often be sulky, or reclusive. She tries to hide her emotions but those close to her can tell when something is off. Delphi’s family of three is supported solely on her mother’s income. Delphi has tried part time jobs but never lasts long, the mix of school, work and taking care of her sister was too much for her to handle and was the cause of many upsets. Delphi is usually unwilling to try new things, perfecting instead things she is familiar with.

Strengths: Delphi is observant and a creative problem solver. She has an excellent sense of direction and rarely gets lost. (She teases her sister by saying she can always tell which way is north.) She’s an eloquent writer even though her speech patterns might make you think otherwise. She’s kind and generous to her friends and family and always makes time for those who need her.

Trivia: Although she’s technically allowed to drink she always feels uncomfortable drinking in front of her mom or little sister. When she does drink it’s rarely very much, preferring hard ciders and wines to beer or liquor.
