It's a claspbox, one of those fancy ones that are flat. Oh, it's oddly intricate for sure, and who uses pearls for a stand? But even without looking, you know it's one of those boxes that open up to have a miniature diorama and maybe a toy or two in them.

Then, you notice the strange light that seems to seep out through the gap of the lid. You quickly retreat as diminutive shopkeeper takes its claws off the box, letting it settle on the floor. The pink light deepens to a hallowed magenta, and then deeper still as it floods the entire room, seemingly plunging the room into a world of mauve dusk.

Reality seems to waver, and all of a sudden you notice the surroundings have filled with fog, glistening in the dim light. When had that happened?! Clouds amble and pool at your knees as you feel something brush up just around your legs-- something bone-white slipping past you, and then standing up. In the undulating mist, it looks like a mere shadow, save for its pearly hood. It stares at you for a long moment, before pressing its pristine hood just for a moment against your hand. Then, it vanishes into the mist, its multicoloured presence ethereal, like both moonlight-- and an eternal watch hanging just above you.
