| Skilled Fighter | While having no real training, Haell has been fighting in some capacity since he was young. Random street fights, back alley brawls, eventually escalated into a lifestyle. He is often underestimated due to his size and lack of formal training, but is swift, quick-thinking, and clever. He's perfected the use of his body in combat, whether that means throwing all of his weight into a proper punch to fell a guy twice his size, or making that same guy want him bad enough that he can take advantage of that distraction. |

- In a relationship with a Ki'Vut, named Chama. Its an open relationship, where they're each happy to let the other be with other people.
- The Ballast are a sister species to the D'jott, once originating from the same planet. Due to evolutionary differences, the two sub-species separated, with the Ballast eventually evolving to the point of space-worthiness, and leaving the planet of limited resources to a new home within the same solar system. While the D'jott were easily invaded and enslaved by the Imperata, the Ballast in recent times have been a greater challenge to the Imperata. There has been an ongoing conflict on the Ballast home planet for close to 20 years, with almost every young Ballast being enlisted into the fight.
BACKGROUND
Some of Haell's earliest memories were of the beginnings of the war with the Imperata, after the tyrannical psychic species enslaved their neighboring D'jott and tried to do the same to them. As he grew older, every member of his family were drawn into the fight against the Imperata, and many of them were lost to it. By the time he came of age, Haell came to a very unpopular and controversial decision--he wanted no part in the war. Instead, he fled the planet, leaving behind the constant war and bloodshed for a comparatively peaceful space station in a neighboring system. There, he made use of a childhood of fights to make a profit, by starting to enter paid fights in the underbelly of the station.
