Magnifique maléfique!~
― Luster

Luster (fond of calling themselves Luster Lustrous, Luster the Illustrious, and other such names) is a cosmic, omnipotent, and malevolent being. Once mortal, they were granted godlike power eons ago, and now have grown rather bored with life. With little else to occupy them, they have simply taken to causing mischief and wreaking havoc and destruction in their wake.

Appearance

Luster's preferred form is a tall vulpine/feline creature standing at around 6'10", covered in long, silky, deep purple fur, and possessing a head of wavy, blackish hair. Their mane and tail tip are filled with sparkles that appear much like outer space. Around their muzzle, ear tips, and chest are patches of bluish white fur, and their eyes are pink with white, starry pupils. Their pads are a light yellow, and they possess two extra arms that they can retract at will. Around their neck is a star-shaped collar, attached to a dark purple leotard accented with baby blue and purplish black; they wear shiny fingerless gloves, in a slightly lighter purple, that extend to their elbows. On the outer wrists of their gloves are flowy pieces of fabric also cut to evoke stars. Up to their knees are a pair of slick, matching stockings, attached to metallic star-shaped cuffs that act as shoes. A thin, shimmery cape drapes from the back of their collar, fading from black to dark purple, and attached to the back and sides of their leotard is a star-shaped skirt. Two yellow rings encircle their tail, floating just far enough to avoid touching it from any side.

The masquerade-esque mask Luster wears is tightly affixed to their face; with a closer look, it might be noticeable that - outside of their eyes - there appears to be nothing but a void beneath it. This mask seems to be the only thing keeping their physical disguise from falling apart to reveal their true form: an eldritch, Lovecraftian entity so incomprehensible that looking upon it is said to blind, madden, or even kill lesser beings.

Design Notes

• Their nose is slightly upturned.
• The collar around their neck, on both outfits, is five-pointed like a traditional star.
• Their tailtip reaches down to slightly below their heels. Only two rings are present around their tail; they do not sit against their fur, but instead, float around it.
• Like all members of their species, their head is wider than it is round.

Personality

With great power comes great irresponsibility.

Luster is a wildly flamboyant show-off. (One might say, the definition of "extra.") With a personality as loud as their voice, it's no question that they can be a polarizing presence: either you love them or you hate them. They have a tendency to react quite heavily and excitedly to things, and they also like to comment on or narrate everything that happens around them (sometimes to the chagrin of others). They enjoy peppering their speech with French words and phrases, even going so far as to make up words to describe certain things, and usually introduce themselves with flair. They can be affectionate to a smothering level, both to the one being they actually care for and those who they just want to mess with. Luster enjoys buttering people up and finds great amusement in exploiting and manipulating them. But this is not their only favorite pastime, and in fact, causing all manner of mischief is what they live for. With not much else to do, seeing as they feel like they've exhausted their options after so long, they particularly enjoy creating or invading other worlds just to "catch the juicy drama" or toy with others.

Although by no means sympathetic, Luster does have a milder side that only ever sees the light of day when they're hanging around their home - so don't expect to be privy to such a thing. On particularly slow days, they have a tendency to dabble in more thought-provoking art than usual; though unlike their usual works, they mostly keep these to themselves. They would never admit it to any old Joe, but without their most beloved by their side, being immortal wouldn't be all it's cracked up to be...

Abilities

Skillset

• Luster is graceful, agile, and quite flexible. So flexible, in fact, that they can contort themselves into all sorts of shapes.
• They are a bit of an artist on the side, with mediums ranging all the way from simple graphite to intergalactic creation (which they consider an art).
• They have also taken a shine to dancing.

Powers

• Luster has picked up the art of shapeshifting, and while they much prefer their usual form, they can take plenty of others.
• Their ascension to godhood has given them extraordinary power - enough to decimate entire planets and even universes. They would be considered a god of death first and foremost. Elementally, they tend toward astrokinesis and luminokinesis (or the manipulation of space and light respectively).
• Luster is also in possession of a magical deck of cards, as well as a pair of six-sided dice. They often consult this deck for "guidance" on what to do (although it's more for show and not really necessary) - such as how to punish those who have done them wrong, or what to do in order to ruin others' plans. The cards themselves can also be thrown like knives. Effectively, these cards and dice are weapons in and of themselves.
• Not only can they destroy worlds, they can also create them. Bringing life into existence is not their forte, but they enjoy shaping stars and planets and all manner of things.

Relationships

 Vitalle

Vitalle

Hmm, fantabulous idea, mon amour~ I'm sure you'll make your scientific breakthrough soon enough! You always know just what to do to make things click~
― Luster

Having spent a majority of their infinite lifespan by his side, Luster absolutely adores Vitalle. There are no lengths they wouldn't go to for their fellow ascended being to show him just how much they love him - dipping well into "obnoxious and smothering" territory in the process. Rather than finding him and his specialties squeamish or horrifying, they hold him in high regard, always impressed with whatever he can cook up and wishing they were just as talented. Though they enjoy teasing Vitalle, they know not to take it too far; it could be argued that Vitalle's happiness is the most important thing in all the cosmos to them, and they take great care in making sure they don't truly upset him. One thing is for certain: they don't know where they'd be without him.

"The Solar Plexus"

A curious entity that seemed to have sprung up in Luster and Vitalle's home dimension out of nowhere. The affectionately named Solar Plexus does not speak, Its forms of communication are limited at best, and whether It is even all that sentient is something Luster is still uncertain of to this day. It exhibits control over the outer environment to some extent, and appears to personify Itself as the sun, which emits an unnerving buzz the closer it is and vanishes into a dark void-like spot at night. Luster has no idea where the Solar Plexus came from or why It exists at all... but as long as It recognizes who is in charge, Luster is fine with having It around.

Trivia

  • While they don't need blood to function, they enjoy having it anyway - "just for fun," as they'd say. If cut open, they bleed a glittery, void-like substance (a bit like their mane) that quickly heats up into a glowing whitish-gold. They can easily regenerate their limbs, but too much laceration in too short a time may run the risk of their disguise collapsing.
