I love to play my piccolo.

Every day I stand on a street corner and do so.

Every day no one seems to notice.

Maybe one day, I think, someone will.

So I continue to go every day and stand on the corner to play.

People pass by without a glance.

No one cares.

So I quit.

One day, I didn't go.

I didn't go stand on the street corner and play.

I assumed no one would even notice I was gone.

After a day off, I realized I already missed going.

So I went back.

I was met with a humongous crowd holding signs with drawings of me and my piccolo, with words of encouragement.

I stood there and looked out over them all.

My eyes filled with tears.

They did notice.

I stood on the street corner and played my piccolo.
