a little hand-built shrine to a forgotten deity sits unnoticed in a clearing. though overgrown, the steps are oddly clear of leaves, and the ornaments lining the paths are strangely unweathered. there are flowers growing in tidy patches around the clearing edge, and you notice the pansies are particularly lively.

this picturesque city park is home to a small, sweet spirit with a perpetual undercurrent of sadness to her, which she negates by always sticking with company and barely staying still for a minute. she wants to see everything and meet everyone and satisfy her wanderlust and curiosity about the world, and has a sentimental streak that has her bringing memories and mementos home with her. she loves easily, unconditionally, and desperately.

history

stray greyhound

before becoming an esk, Lyra was a racing greyhound known as Lady Luck. she wasn't a particularly good racer; not because she was slow but because she'd regularly get distracted, and would much rather have attention than be running. still young when she found herself out on the streets after escaping a car crash, the dog spent her time exploring and wandering, pulling puppy eyes at the locals, and convincing travellers to take her on day trips. the sprawling and bustling city park became her favourite haunt, with lots of visitors to greet and sheltered places to curl up at night.

personality

loving, wandering

one winter day, she wandered too far into the unkempt depths of the park and happened across a bizarre creature who spoke in tongues and riddles and shone with false moonlight. Poesy transformed the lanky dog into a tiny esk but didn't stick around for long before leaving. the spirit took to caring for her shrine and exploring her home, which she'd mostly forgotten - and looked so very different from such a new perspective.

it was weeks of adventuring, learning, and remembering before she somehow summoned a familiar - Pearl, the motherly opossum, took Lyra under her wing, named her, and became her first friend and confidant. and then it wasn't long before Lyra learned to help others, creating more dainty pansy esk, more friends and family, so she never has to be lonely again.

pansy gang
family

Lyra had been lonely her whole life, so when she unwittingly created Thimble she was overjoyed to have company - and family. their numbers grew one by one until this wild side of the park became home to a whole gang of pansy spirits. they regularly take roadtrips on passing cars or go adventuring into the city in search of excitement, and have ocassionally been known to cause trouble...

poesy
strange creator

though she tries, Lyra doesn't really understand Poesy - their personality nor speech - and Poesy doesn't seem to be one to be friendly or form relationships. it doesn't stop Lyra from encouraging the odd abnormal to visit often and accompany the pansies on their adventures though, because even if Poesy is a bit weird, she doesn't think they should have to be alone.
