Bio: A nekomata is born when a cat grows much past it's lifespan. Domestic Nekomata and Mountain Nekomata are two different breeds in themselves. Both vastly differ in power, size and personality. Although they are mostly generalized as malicious beings. Yoichi is a Domestic Nekomata, even though he has long past living as a domestic cat. After his owner past away, Yoichi had been wandering for centuries hoping to find a purpose. Only to find himself going into a deep slumber due to lack of spiritual energy.
Waking up he found himself reduced to a much weaker cat form. His lack of spiritual energy had caused him to take on a much smaller form in order to conserve strength. Nekomata have to feed on humans, or so he was told when he first transformed. Due to his stubbornness, Yoichi had refused to prey on humans out of respect for his owner.
Even in his cat form, Yoichi was still weak. Trying to look for something to sustain himself, even though yokai have no need for human food. Yoichi was soon picked up by a family on holiday in Japan. He protested at first but he did not have the strength the fight back and ended up in the care of a British family. He was given the name Percy under his new owners, which he still can't get around to till this day. He still doesn't have enough room in his heart to accept them as his family yet. Since it already was filled with another that he can't replace.
One day the child of the family, Amelia was playing in the forest that was near the hotel they were staying at. She brought Yoichi with her, much to his detest. But that was a decision that would decide her fate as not long after, they were attacked by feral spirits that lived there. They were preying on Amelia, wanting to absorb her life essence since she was still a child she had a long lifespan ahead of her, a prime delicacy for hungry spirits. Yoichi tried to protect Amelia but he was still like a weaken state. He managed to consume one of the spirits while in the midst of being ragged around. That one spirit gave him enough strength to revert back to his yokai form to dispel of the feral spirits before reverting back to his cat form. Amelia had fainted beforehand having almost been killed. She woke up to find her cat Percy collapsed and injured badly. Although she views the events of what had happened previously to be a bad dream, she can't shake off the feeling that Percy had saved her in some way.
Yoichi was taken back to London for a more professional checkup after being briefly patched up back local vets. The family's stay in Japan was already nearing its end so it was time to go home. Yoichi didn't know he was going to move away from his homeland, he had awoken in a foreign land in a very luxurious environment that was not at all Japan. In a state of panic he ran away from the house, finding himself in the alley ways. "A cat? Or rather a Nekomata. It's not everyday I get to see someone like myself in this musky alley." Those were the first words that were given to Yoichi from Genma, a frog yokai. Like Yoichi, Genma had been unwillingly moved from his home and ended up in London. Genma taught Yoichi many things about modern life in London and helped him adjust. One of Yoichi's favourite things is this flat slab called a television. He now works with Genma in the detective bureau while living a double life as Percy to protect Amelia.
