Personality: Street-smart, high-energy, hotblooded, quick witted, sharp-tongued, unafraid to speak his mind- but seldom his insecurities. 

Backstory:  Coen had always been a gentle but adventurous child, drawn to his father's tales and the prospect of travels and prestige. He loved the trips his father allowed him on, collecting samples of things in the field. He would sit politely through meetings, and rarely caused his father much trouble- he loved his father dearly after all. when he was not tagging along with his father on work trips, he studiously attended schooling, eager to get through it all so he could follow in his dad's footsteps. He had friends, whom he greatly enjoyed the company of, but limited his outings and social time to balance school. Coen had the immense misfortune during his last two years of school, of becoming horrendously ill- unable to pinpoint the disease, the doctors who handled him were quick to consider him a loss, though Melbourne's and Yona's constant funding kept their son in care despite his deteriorating condition. He spent months bedridden, in agony, too feeble to move, waiting for an end, trying to convince himself he had a good enough life. Mel lamented the condition of his only child, desperate to find whatever medicine or treatment may cure him- visiting him daily even when work wouldn't allow just to check on him. It seemed as if the two would soon be apart. In a fleeting hazy memory, Coen recalls his mother visiting him in the ward, shrouded in a curious blue- and the following morning awakening in a rare sense of painlessness. The soreness, the stabbing pain in his body, all but evaporated overnight, and with shaky steps, he was able to walk again. The joy of his recovery however, was met with the loss of his mother, Yona. It was a bittersweet period of his life, and with his father mourning as much as he, there was little in the way of a stable person to turn to for comfort. In his desperation for escapism and a longing to make the most of his recovery, Coen drowned his sorrows and confusion in adrenaline, doing the things his bedridden body was sure to have never experienced again. Thrilling rides down massive slopes, swimming, climbing trees, roaming nearby landscapes and curious human settlements, anything to relish in the joy of movement became the new centerpiece of his life. He often read books- but now rather than relishing in the adventure of others as before, he sought ideas for his next outings. His friends have since changed, many of the old discouraged by his lack of studiousness and reckless behavior- many of the new drawn in by the fearlessness of this wild child. He cherishes his group of fellow adventurers, his now unpredictable and far-from mundane life, and the thrills he finds even in the wake of his father's dwindling patience and respect.
