Basics
Description
This is my character for my friend's custom ttrpg! It's a fairytale based story along with being based on the efteling! (that's a themepark btw)
Faeries come in many forms- this one is just particularly freakish. The creature is off-putting for many reasons, and he has long since given up on trying to appeal to people and get along. His unpredictable nature and feral outbursts do not help with this. But he's found himself in the company of other folk, now SOMEHOW his friends, as they've traveled around Symbolica to save the realms from peril. After such a journey he gets employed as the castle's gardener and occasional chimney sweep. He is still prone to stealing.
Backstory
The Creature is a faerie from a small clan of all-female faeries. They're created through magical means and when he was created he... came out a bit wrong. Over the years this eventually lead to his clan moving him over to the more dark fae. This didn't really work out, since he's not actually aligned evil, he just looks messed up and his chaotic good nature leads to impulsive actions and violent aggression. Eventually he left the clan of dark fae as well, and so he was on his own. A thief and general menace, he's skilled with his dexterity and deception.
Extra
He often believes that there is nothing for him, that people will only see a monster and all he can do is continue to do the right thing. With hope, though very fleeting, he keeps surviving despite not believing a happy ending is in the cards for him. Something has kept him going though! This has gotten better over time, especially now that he helped saved Symbolica once (and is set on another adventure to do it... again), but his emotional repression is still an issue. He is in love with his best friend but that's been one hell of a slow burn and he's very good at denying this fact. he's also STILL a bastard, though underneath the wall he puts up he's pretty steadfast and kind. u gotta get through that wall first tho

Trivia
- He was not given a name, so "The Creature" or simply "Creature" is fine by him.
- Despite the it/its pronouns, creature simply identifies as a man, nothing more. Just a binary man in a "what is that thing" sort of way. He's also gay and asexual!
- Adores magic (he tries to keep this less obvious) but he's bad at it himself, despite being a fae. His shapeshifting is even limited and thus he cant change his form to something less monstrous.
- Literally loves kids. Often will put a child as his top priority if they need something.
- It is really REALLY bad with charisma unless lying is involved. And doesn't like most social events. Fancy things aren't appealing to it either- at least when uptight rich folk are involved.
- Not smart, at all. It knows this and doesn't really care. Though you might be able to catch it messing with plants for little potions and stuff... don't let him know you saw that. He also likes mechanics and such! But he's hiding that too.
- Adding onto that, he has a secret garden hidden away from almost everyone.
- VERY impulsive. Will eat almost anything, steal what he wants, and has no problems being violent if the opposing force is bad. Generally a freak.
- Secretly a hopeless romantic but do NOT tell anyone that, it will beat you up.
Princess, knight, and hero to Symbolica. She was first hoping to find her best friend (Pardoes) but ended up also saving the realms. She is skilled with the sword and has incredible brute strength. She's very sweet and empathetic though!
One of the critterfolk, and intelligent too. A good-hearted rat and often the voice of reason yet prone to killing and violence if the opposing force deserves it... which her and the creature often agree on. She is a good friend. And now she trains self-defense!
The other of the critterfolk. A cowardly mouse who once aspired to be a knight. After the first adventure though, he has happily retired as a florist. Despite being frustrated at times with his cowardice, Creature gets along with him well and considers him a friend.
Chief of Protocol to the castle of Hartenhof. They hate each other. O.J. thinks Creature is a foul scoundrel and Creature thinks O.J. is an uptight rich man. Which, to be fair, is kind of true. Creature likes to make him upset.
A cook to the castle and enjoyer of pancakes. He's a young teen and one Creature has not always gotten along with. Nowadays Creature acts as a big brother to him. Specifically the big brothers that tend to mess with their little brothers.
Hartenhof's own court jester and wizard-in-training. Incredibly smart but incredibly naive. Lover of magic, imagination, and coming up with new things. He's mischievous and doesn't really care that much about rules. Loves to make people happy! He had a villain arc in the first ttrpg but he's ok now (he was corrupted). True Love's Kiss woke him up but he is unaware of that. Creature will continue to hope Pardoes does not know this. They are mutual pining lol
