Personality
Salem, to put it in the most simple terms, is strange. She's a paranoid and superstituous sort, wholly devoted to her god that she refuses to give any details about. She's private and quiet, keeping most things to herself, but at the same time says the most vague, concerning things, like "Oh, I don't have much time to have fun, I have to serve my god."
Despite all this, she's very sweet and compassionate. She cares a lot for people, and will do whatever she can to help others, even if it puts herself in harms way. She isn't very brave, though.
Survivalist. When you're on your own, you have to make do with what you have.
- Advantage on rolls to do with survival.
- Ability to Stabilize a downed ally.
- Attempts to inflict Poison are rolled with disadvantage.
History
- Salem was born into a small, rural community in a country named Iridithine, in the state of Gloam. On the night of her birth, a storm caused a fire to erupt in the old, wooden church. The church and Salem were both deemed cursed.
- Throughout her life, any misfortune the town experienced that could potentially be linked to Salem was blamed on her. She was a curse on the town, but they let her remain, and her parents hesitantly kept raising her, instilling her with the town’s beliefs and reinforcing the fact that she was in some way cursed and had to make up for it with her religion.
- On the day of her coming-of-age ceremony, at around 14 years old, another fire broke out in the clearing, the flames separating her from others in her family. She was subsequently banished, never to return to the community.
- She fled to the nearby abandoned church, about a two-mile walk through the new-growth part of the woods from the rest of town. From there, she continued her worship of a god known as the Light, wanting to protect herself but, most importantly, wanting to protect her village.
