VERTIGO

a strange abstract cyborg reminiscent of a dog. vertigo is a mass hallucination, brought upon by an alien bacteria that causes a person’s mind to deteriorate into a zombified state. vertigo is entirely obsessed with business, which, to him, is the simple act of giving something and receiving something in return. while he is strict about these rules, it is not uncommon for him to twist his words and be deceptive in order to secure what he wants from another person. in the early stages of the hallucination, vertigo persuades the infected to adopt the mindset of his “business”. it begins with everyday things such as money for currency, but devolves into a much more primal and brutal system as the sickness progresses. this eventually leads to the most basic demand: fuel. the host will eat anyone living in order to sustain themselves, however in return they will often force parts of themselves (such as teeth, hair, and fingers) into their victims in order to maintain the system.

the bacteria causes a person to revert to very primal and animalistic urges, however it also includes a modern-day aspect of profit, self-sufficiency and greed. in the early stages of the infection, vertigo appears three-dimensional and more realistic. as it progresses, vertigo appears two-dimensional and abstract, until eventually he is just a bunch of barely coherent colours and shapes.

vertigo has a charismatic and persuasive personality, failing to hide any expression. he can be easily irritable when things do not go his way, and is often extremely erratic. he is the textbook definition of a sociopath, and only holds himself as his highest interest.

vertigo has been known to have an intense fear of germs. it has been theorized that this is the subconscious mind’s last piece of self awareness as it expresses its terror of dying to this disease.
