Ember was born to a stray elemental fire dog (mother), and was sired by a feral (non sentient) chow chow who had a lucky day in his back yard one winter morning.

When Ember was four months old his mother, hungry and weak, was fatally wounded by a coyote.  The coyote didn't not survive either, but the wounds they inflicted bled too much and she did not survive her attempt to get back to her pup.

Days later, Ember, hungry, lost, and afraid, ventured toward the smell of food down the mountain where his mother had forbade her to go.  But he was soooo hungry.

Nipsey found her, saw she was starving, and gave her some hamburger and water... which ember disappeared and then ran off for home.  This went on for a couple weeks, each time Ember lingering longer as Nipsey sat with her and stoked her surprising toasty fur.  Nipsey finally concluded Ember was alone and took her in, which by this time she accepted.

Nipsey and ember love each other and sometimes it's hard to tell who is more excited to see the other when Nipsey gets home.

Ember is loyal to Nipsey with all her being.  She also is a ravenous bottomless pit that always seems to eat but never gain much if any weight.

Ember is also lazy as fuck, in personality tends to be more like a cat, especially in terms of her independence.  Her favorite activity when not eating is laying in the shade, sleeping, and sending up little sparks, embers, and wisps of smoke amidst her occasional snores.

Nipsy has managed to 'fireproof' his place as much as possible so Ember can live inside, but there are still occasional adventures.
