Pyrite Peat

Pyrite Peat is the local prospector that came out west to seek his fortune when he was a young stallion. Luck, however, wasn’t on his side and all he found and dug up was fool’s gold. He raised his family in poverty and he, as he aged, became more bitter and crotchety, feeling as if life had cheated him.

When Pyrite Peat’s son and daughter-in-law ran off to find a good life elsewhere, they left their child Goldie behind with the promise of sending for her once the pair were settled in. They never came back and Peat was stuck with the filly.

A few years ago him and Goldie had a falling out and he’s none too worried about it. Why should he care about someone who won’t help out kin? Good riddance to ungrateful rubbish.
