Craven, Turned
Personality: /
Physical Description: /
History: Craven was having a rough go of things before he turned. Nothing in life seemed to be going his way. His job laid him off, girlfriend dumped him, savings were running frighteningly dry, health was declining... He was also trying really hard not to get addicted to cigarettes and alcohol, but it wasn't really working. He had debilitating depression and did little more than wander around at night, hoping peace would fall in his lap. Rather than encountering a magical turnaround, he was making a pattern that a highly cautious vampire was memorizing
One night, the vampire attacked him. Due to his route being majorly isolated, no one was nearby to take notice. As they were starved of blood, he was almost able to fight them off, but it ended up being in vain. Once they hooked onto him, they bled him dry, leeching him to death. Craven, understandably, blacked out somewhere during this process. When he came to, he initially wasn't sure if the previous night had been a horrible dream. At the same time, he was in pain, cold, and on the ground exactly where he had been left... Having gotten what they wanted from him, the vampire was nowhere to be seen. Thusly, he didn't get any helpful vampire tips upon turning or even a "hey, congrats, your dead now"
The turn wasn't immediate. He was able to slink back to his grubby apartment and live in terror for upwards of a week. He kept hoping that it wasn't real and he'd just... had a bad bender or something. Yet, as time progressed, the symptoms sunk in. His skin was always cold, eating made him feel ill, sunlight had a repulsion to it that it hadn't before... He was in denial for as long as he could be, but the time eventually came where he needed to get blood in his system. His body made him a little more before the process shut down, but he was out of time
His first bite was pretty traumatic. He had to slink around in the dark like some kind of murderer and narrow down a possible target. In the end, he had to pick somewhat desperately as he was running out of time. It didn't go smoothly. He was seen by one of the target's friends and then wasn't able to control himself, fully draining the victim. Horrified at the fact he would have inflicted his curse upon someone else, he panicked and tried to kill them. Unsure on what would do the trick, he ended up decapitating them. Then, if that wasn't bad enough, he had to stalk the witness before they told authorities who he was. Freshly empowered, they were startlingly easy to kill, which frightened him all the more. Then he couldn't even abandon the body, as it still had blood in it - a valuable resource
The nightmare just kept getting worse from there. Craven initially suffered intensified depression, paranoia, and even panic attacks until he realized things just weren't going to get better. He had to become jaded or it was going to kill him. And jaded he did become. He forced himself to become alienated from humans. He wasn't one of them - he was a monster now. He couldn't mourn every death he caused. It couldn't bother him. He made himself develop a superiority complex, twisting his personality into something that could survive rather than what he was. And, with time, the deaths stopped. He got better at stealing blood without it being fatal. As much as he hated it, he adapted to his new life

Humans in his world just have pointy elf ears, though vampires have much longer one 🦇 Vampires can only be sustained on human blood, not animal 🦇 It's common knowledge that if left completely void of blood for an extended period of time, a vampire will starve to death. As such, they're often caught in pit traps and left there 🦇 Vampires are created by a pre-existing vampire totally draining a person of all blood. People can can get bit and get out of it without becoming undead 🦇 Once transformed into a vampire, the majority of a person's organs will atrophy with some being reabsorbed by the body. The main ones that remain are the heart, lungs, and stomach. The stomach holds blood before it's pushed into the veins, lungs oxygenate the blood to keep it alive for longer, and heart both circulates and digests the blood. The stomach is no longer capable of digestion and just holds stuff. Any other organs that remain may also be used to hold excess blood in the event that the vampire consumes a whole lot of it 🦇 If not actively tending to blood in their system, a vampire has no need to breathe 🦇 Vampires often pant/hyperventilate when stressed as a residual fight-or-flight effect 🦇 Vampires do not have enough water in their systems to cry. This is often used as an identifier if it's not already obvious that a person's been turned

Craven initially is quite livid with Avril, as the human contained him in their basement when all he wanted was like a little blood. He wasn't gonna kill them or anything, good grief. For his attempted crime, he's held hostage while the wuss tries to figure out what to do with him
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics
