Appearance: Eques stands at 182.88 centimeters tall, or six feet. Her build is muscular, and her face and arms are dotted with scars from previous fights. Her skin is a shade of almond, her hands are calloused from years of working in the forges. Her lips are commonly chapped. Her hair reaches a bit past the middle of her back, she doesn't like keeping it too long since it gets to be a bit much to manage, it's color being a greyish blue. Her eyes are a vibrant baby blue, just like her father's.

Personality: Eques is a loving individual but she shows it by being hard on those around her, pushing them to be better. Her years in battle has pushed her to be a bit harsh, and it's hard for her to show softness. In her youth, she was beaming with curiosity and innocence, but when war came to her town, it was wiped away. She learned from a young age that the world has cruel, that you had to grow strong to survive it, and couldn't show any sign of weakness.

Background: Born in the city of Ferrum on the cold continent Glacies, Eques was brought up in a family of welders. The city was famous for its iron and metalworkers. Her father was a blacksmith, and since she had no brothers, her father decided it would be her to continue the family trade. Unlike her sisters, Eques took joy in the more masculine things in life. It wasn't uncommon to find her in alleyways tussling with boys her age or playing with wooden swords. It was her father who taught her how to properly use one in her early teens. She took pride in what he had taught her and made each piece of armor or weapon with care.

When she was fourteen, war found it's way to Ferrum, the city's chief forcing every boy of age and every man who was healthy enough to go off to fight. Eques father went off with them. So she stayed home and worked in the forges with the boys who weren't old enough to head off into battle. The war went on for years, and on her twentieth birthday, Eques and her family was sent a letter from the commander, informing them of her father's death. Devastated, Eques fled the city on horseback. She was determined to get justice for her father, she believed it would be the only thing that would bring her peace. She found herself at her tribe's camp, she forced her way through to the commander's tent and demanded that she'd be given a spot within the ranks. A woman in war wasn't something that was ever heard of before, they believed a women's place was at home, or in the temples if she devoted herself to the gods. The commander tried to send her back home, but ended up with Eques on top of him, a dagger hovering centimeters over his heart. Fearful of what she would do if he scorned her even further, he allowed her to join the chief's army.

Over the remaining years of the war, she proved herself to be an honorable and skilled fighter. She'd slay opponent after opponent from enemy tribes. Eques had climbed her way through the ranks and became the chief's right-hand man, yet her job wasn't done. She had yet to kill the man who had brought her father down. Eques made it her life's duty to find him and make him meet the gods. And just as the war as about to end, that day came. In the middle of a blizzard deep in the mountains, that's when she had found him, laying in the snow, eyes locked with the sky above him. He had fallen into a pool of his own blood. This wasn't how she pictured it at all, she had played the scene back in her head time and time again, it'd be a long fight, running on until both of them could barely summon the strength to stand, and she'd land the killing blow. Yet this before her seemed cowardly. Someone else had done the work, and then he spoke, telling her he could recognize those eyes anywhere, and saying that he remembered that fight clear as day. According to him, her father had slain his son, one who was too young for war but was thrown into the harsh hands of battle, all he wanted was to see his boy again, in tears, she slit his throat.

She kneeled beside his body, crying her heart out, begging the gods to take her too. One of them had heard her, by didn't grant her wish, instead the war god Ira blessed her with the magic of the Paladin and told her that she had much more to do.
