Prologue

This was supposed to be an easy job. Honestly, nothing she didn’t deal with before, nothing she wasn’t trained for. In all possible scenarios, she should’ve been done in maybe a week or two, or if she was lucky enough and the guy was as stupid as he looked, she would be home for Valentine’s, or whatever humans celebrate these days. She was simply tasked with eliminating, one way or another, a yakuza don who went by ‘Soulless’. Now, the mafia part? Easy-peasy. Thing was, he was also a Wendigo, and a strong one at that. Nonetheless, since she can’t permanently die, it was simply trial and error- if only he wasn’t that damn charming.

Current Life

Befriending your target? Stupid idea. Sleeping with him? Damn right idiotic, if not completely braindead. Falling in love with your target? We are approaching the black hole of human – or inhuman, if you will – idiocy. You can’t get lower from here, it’s point zero. It ended up fine, since they are positively, sickly, quite perfect for each other. Perhaps things could’ve been solved cleanly and fast, but then she wouldn’t end up with her boyfriend or her found family, and she sure as hell wouldn’t be half as happy to have lived up to this point. Honestly, maybe breaking rules are okay – all’s fair in love and war.
