Altan Qestir

Altan has a very curious and gentle disposition. It's easy to tell that he's young and naive in the way he's constantly examining things and people. He grew up in a tribal setting with very little exposure to modern utiities so he naturally has a desire to fiddle with devices or get mixed in with crowds to see if there's anything new or eciting to witness.

Due to his tribe's beliefs, he does not speak. Even though he's traveled far from them, he still keeps his silence. Worried that someone who could recognize him from his village might overhear. Thankfully, they were also a merchant tribe so his merchantile skills are sharp and he can strike up and settle deals without the need for spoken words.

Altan missed his chance to leave his village earlier with a mentor he saw as a second father. So now he ventures on his own to sharpen his skills and build relations. He's still trying to figure out what it is that he will want out of life, but for now he would like to meet his old mentor and impress him.

Altan is from the world of Final Fantasy XIV.

Childhood:[WiP, basics for now]

His parents are deeply in love with one another and are kinda cringe to be with when they're together. His Qestiri half is from his mother's side and she raised him with her people. His dad is a LOUD and boisterous Oronir who came to visit them most weekends and all holidays. They did give Altan the choice to live with the Oronir, but he chose to stay with his mom.

His Ninja instructor was a man married to a Doman refugee. He lead the small group who chose to migrate through the Steppe. They offered their services for shelter during their short stay. Instructor Kiba offered defense training, which Altan shows a great interest in (Likely got his Oronir blood going). He took to the movements quickly and his nature to move around silently made Kiba consider him for ninja training.

Altan's worse mistake in his life (according to himself), is that he developed quite the puppy crush on his instructor's daughter. Huffing up all the courage he could, he proclaimed his feelings to her vocally. She responded with a no and that his voice sounded gross. He took this to heart and has no recovered. As cruel as that may seem... she was only eleven and he was thirteen. She still thought boys were icky and kids are just notoriously cruel sometimes.

Because of that little mishap, he chose to stay with his tribe when his instructor offered to take him on a training journey to see more of the world. He regretted every day, and distracted himself with practicing the basics he was taught and making up some moves on his own. When he was 18, his mom pushed him out of the nest, knowing what he wanted to do was not stay on the Steppe. He fumbled his way to Kugane and caught the first ship to Eorzea.
