early life
Aquamarine is the second son in the royal family. His older brother Hematite was always the one who received attention from his family and the people, leading to Aqua feeling needy for affection through his childhood.
Receiving the crown
and arranged marriage
Aquamarine was not meant to take the crown, but his brother's sudden departure caused the role of king to fall on him instead. He was originally meant to marry a sorcerer-turned mermaid named Quartz as an alliance with the angels, but he met a new girl: Pearl.
Quartz, terrified of losing her chance to remain a mermaid, crafted a love potion for her and Aqua to drink. However, Pearl learns of her plan and stops Aqua from drinking it, causing Quartz to leave the kingdom in shame. From then on, Aqua completely fell head-over-tail for Pearl. (Meanwhile, Quartz had been turned into a statue for her failure.)
Meeting the Demon Warlord
aiding akupheles' efforts
One day, Akupheles ventured underseas to survey the lands and detect any problems he may be able to fix. Aquamarine befriended the Demon Warlord and aided his efforts to set barriers against rising prevelance pirate and fishing invasions in the Underseas. To this day, he still respects Akupheles for his help and would commonly invite him over for chats... until Akupheles went missing unexpectedly.
