History

Jaykit was born to Magpie and Sunny after they found a tom to surrogate for them. Sunny had been a kittypet prior to his birth, but left her home to pursue a life with Magpie and raise a family. Jay was the oldest child followed by Rainy, Bramble, and Mouse. Jay was always a bit of a hellion, he wanted to wrestle and play-fight as much as possible.

One night while Jay was asleep Bramble and Mouse went missing and the following weeks were consumed with searching for them. Jay and Rainy were told to stay behind in the den, but curiosity got the better of Jay and he went searching for them by himself at the age of five weeks old.

It wasn’t long before he was cold, hungry, and tired. Jay huddled up under a bush and waited for his mothers to find him. To his dismay they never found him, but a few cats from the nearby Monarchclan found him hiding in the bushes.

Upon arriving at Monarchclan he found out that his sister, Mouse, had been accepted into the clan. Realizing her name was now Mousekit he promised her he would never let her out of his sight. Neither of them knew what happened to Bramble though...

Jaypaw's apprenticeship was fairly laidback, his mentor was Pebbleskip, and he seemed to excel at most things physical. All mental tasks were annoying to him, because why waste time thinking of the best solution when you can just act on instinct! He's a bit of a knucklehead to put it lightly. All day everyday was spent having fun with his sister Mousepaw and friend Jetpaw. The three of them were inseperable throughout their whole apprenticeship, so much so that when a sickness got one of them it quickly spread to the other two. All three were laid up in the medicine cat den for moons, delaying their warrior ceremony.

While Jaypaw and Jetpaw got better, Mousepaw couldn't keep fighting the sickness. She passed away in her sleep and unknowingly shattered Jaypaw's entire world. The cat he had loved more than anything in the whole world, his only living sibling...now gone. Jaypaw had a fairly serious mental break and sought relief from the pain and grief...but he couldn't find anything to soothe the prickling pain constantly gripping his heart. He finally managed to become a warrior, but what helped was the fact that Rosestar not only gave him and Jetpaw new names, she gave Mouse a new name. The trio now being known as Jaystep, Jetshine, and Mouseear. The fact that they all had new names flickered a light of hope in Jaystep's heart, he had to be happy...for Mouseear.

Jaystep is currently living life to the fullest alongside Jetshine, trying to make up for all the time he lost while mourning.
