Profile

(TW/CW: Mentions of SA, SH.)

Grumpy and Sullen, but also excitable and sweet when he tries or wants to be. Somewhat permanently an emotional teenager in that respect. He's a little shy and reserved, but he'll open up a bit around people he's known for a little while. Short and thin, He has long asymmetrical dirty faun/blond hair and bottle-green eyes. Boney fingers, elbows, and knees, slightly pigeon-toed. Fair skin, sullen expression 24/7. Likes baggy layered comfort clothes. He has extensive scarring on his belly and upper thighs from self-harm as a teenager onward. He has all his back teeth filled with silver. He also has a cap on his right incisor that is the wrong color. He bites his nails and they're always chipped. He wears contacts or, rarely, glasses as he is farsighted. He is left-handed.

His feminine looks actually betray him, as his personality is not particularly soft or feminine. (He originally kept his hair long to try and get his parents to give him some kind of attention but ended up finding that he likes it that way. He's rude and brash and emotionally reserved outside of anger and sometimes, when he can't help it, despair. He likes video games and watching some sports, cars, and other traditionally masculine hobbies. He used to hate that everyone thought he looked 'like a girl' but as he gets older he really doesn't care. He isn't insecure about his gender as he used to be.

Back Story:

Tori's parents did not want him and only kept him to keep up appearances. They treated him badly as he was growing up, and since he already had mental health issues as a teenager, this didn't help him at all. They tended to not call him by his name or just completely ignore him most of the time. He had a severe infection when he was 10 and the antibiotics he was given for it messed up his intestines and he now has a permanent malabsorption disorder. He has trouble gaining weight and most fatty foods make him sick. He is pretty bad about taking care of himself, as these are his favourite types of foods and he often eats them anyway.

He doesn't know how to properly accept or give love and affection as he didn't have it all until he was an older teen.

When he was 12 years old he had his first girlfriend, but she broke up with him for someone who had better fashion sense and cooler shoes. He offhandedly realized he liked boys when another boy became interested in him. They would hold hands and kiss behind the bleachers sometimes. However, someone found out about it and the other boy denied everything and joined in jeering Tori with homophobic slurs. His parents found out about it because he got in a fight. They didn't want anyone knowing about their queer son, or that he was "a delinquent" and so they moved towns, and subsequently Tori had to move schools. He didn't talk to anyone at his new school and tried really hard to suppress his attraction to boys.

He met a kind and caring teacher when he was 17 and was introduced to peer counseling where he met his boyfriend, Dorian. (Though he often doesn't want to call him his boyfriend directly.) He also met his best friend Connor around this time. Tori's parents had a house guest named Damien Terry, who befriended him for the sole purpose of sexually abusing him. His parents were unaware until the man raped him and he went into hospital care. They relinquished their parental rights to Francis Darling shortly after this incident.

When he was 19 he and Dorian broke up for a while and he had a drunken sexual experience with Connor. It didn't mean anything to either of them, thankfully (though it made Connor realize he was kind of heteroflexible), but it did cause a big rift in his relationship with Dorian for a while. Dorian didn't understand how he could have such hang-ups about sleeping with him, his boyfriend, but would so easily do something with Connor. (Tori, of course, couldn't explain it either, but the fact that Dorian DOES love him makes it hard to be intimate with him sometimes.) After spending time apart, Tori realizes that even though his fear of Dorian's affection isn't his fault, he's still been shitty to him in other ways. They get back together when Tori is 19.5 years old.

Dorian pays for him to go to the college that he attends. He does his remedial classes and keeps switching his major because he has no real direction. He considers studying art since he used to doodle a lot.

He goes through many ups and downs of just growing up but also dealing with a distorted sense of self, and trust issues with everyone around him. He started seeing a therapist at 19 and is steadily getting better bit by bit.

ONGOING STORY

  • Currently, Tori is in college with an undecided major. He still goes to therapy and hangs out with his friend(s) from his teenage years. He's trying to make it through college life with the same issues he had before, as well as dorm/school life, work stress, and relationship issues.
