Personality

It is easy to devolve Friend into a simple archetype fitting those who are selfless, kind and optimistic. He's bubbly, extremely excitable, and has mastered the ability to find a way to bring joy from negative experiences. His outward expression of his hyper positive tendencies seemingly make it impossible for him to feel down. In other words, he can no longer succumb to the expression of despair.

When placed in situations that require some form of formal (or informal) seriousness or that radiate forms of melancholy, Friend prepares himself to be entirely neutral to fit the part. He understands the emotions that simply aren't present in his repertoire, and tries his hardest to adapt, even if he fails from a social point of view.

Friend is a hardcore pacifist, and could not bring to hurt and/or bestow forms of pain and misery on another being. As a result, he is the equivalent of a "friendship solves everything" utilizer, and it is easy to fold the Edeia of Joy in actual battle (even from individuals who lack magic of their own to harm him). He accepts it, and often congratulates those who prove their point, hoping that his words satisfy their emotions.

Abilities

Divine Spark - The Edeia of Joy is rightfully known as happiness incarnate. Friend catalyzes and develops the pinprick of light from within, and enlightens happiness even from the darkest depths of hopelessness in a soul. That spark may start off small, and can gradually grow bigger when the recipient fully embraces the joy Friend brings forth.

Eudaimonia - The gift of happiness comes in many shapes. An almost mysterious ability of insight, Friend can change his form and voice to whatever will make someone happiest.. Perhaps Friend may mimic the voice of a passed loved one to bring closure, or maybe even become a mirage of a landscape to overlay and bring back beautiful memories.

His Sacrifice - To relieve misery, is to sacrifice oneself to the pain. When the Edeia of Joy is harmed, miracles happen within the world. His blessings can do incredible things, such as manifest and guide possibilities of favored outcomes to bring forth mirth. Someone may win the lottery. The recovery of an ill individual may happen instantly. Someone may regain their sight or hearing. And many more.

Friend does have senses of pain suppression to endure the physical aspect, but even Friend has his limits - too much injury can cause Friend's abilities to lose their potency (minus this one) and even cause him to vanish into his Abstraction and be out of commission for quite some time, even if he doesn't feel it.

History

Friend is unsure where he began, but someone dear to him has logged his journey for him to constantly read over and reminisce.

In the beginning, Friend's life was short-lived: a young boy with many health problems the day he was born. Frankie practically lived in his local hospital, where his parents often came to sleep overnight and visit him in his recovery. But Frankie often awaited the day to go home. His will was indomitable, steadfast to go home and live the happy life he and his parents wanted.

He developed his Idea before he was born, and it first manifested as the premise of Excitement. His urge to await his freedom would spread onto his parents, then to the staff, bringing uplifting moments and the majority of his underlying conditions stabilized. He brought forth mirth in meeting an Edeia friend in secret, as he grasped the straws that were laid to him.

It began to shift as he approached his destiny: developing cancer. He did not understand at first, but it became real as he suffered great misery from long term treatments. He could feel himself becoming weaker and weaker, the treatments were trying to be effective enough to send him home, but his condition was terminal. It was then Frankie saw his fate, but... he did not cry.

If death would bring him closure and peace, then he would accept it. And so, his enthusiasm returned, anticipating what may become of him in his next life. His aura seemed to uplift those around him, it was difficult to not smile when someone visits his room. The happiness he gave to others... it started to click.

Before Frankie could embrace his Actualization, his body succumbed to the cancer, entering a coma-like state. To everyone else, he was declared dead. It lasted just long enough near his funeral, where he finally "woke up" and Actualized, being encased in a soft, gentle light as his casket was opened. He was free from his burdens, as he brought inner joy to all that came as he disappeared.

"Do not worry about me. I am free now, and I have the whole world to explore."

Abstraction

Friend's Abstraction is a scenic mirage of light, often taking the shape of an infinite strip of beautiful beachfront with soft golden sand and almost pale blue to white waters, bubbling and floating upwards to the sky as its tide pushes against the sand. The sand is delicate and warm when walked over barefoot, with never a thought of injury from loose sharp items that might be littered underneath. The water is transparent and clear when one dives under its surface, and underneath teem countless fragments of light, taking the shape of underwater life. The light fish nearby may come up to greet visitors, cuddling them to create wonderful memories.

In the distance of the beach if one journeys far enough, there is a small beach home near the water. Frankie resides here when he is out of commission from his injuries.
