Previous lore, now considered non-canon as he is no longer a villain:
When his former master died within the Whispering Woods, Astral was left to wander, his only defense being the very sword that was a part of him. This was until he stumbled across a vampire by the name of Prometheus who took him into his home. Without a master to wield him, Astral served no purpose, so he allowed Prometheus to take up the Astral Blade and become his new master, who was a bit more... immortal than the previous one.
Astral was given a new chance at life with Prometheus, and learned that he had a deep respect for him. Maybe a bit too much respect, as he would willingly revere and worship Prometheus, always at his beck and call, to the point where he became like a god to Astral. This strong faith for a vampire lord is what twisted his sense of pure magic into something darker and more sinister - and he became a cleric of the Blood Domain.
Astral lives only to serve his master. He cares not of his free will - after all, a sword is nothing without someone to wield it.
Currently, he lays indefinitely dormant within The Astral Blade, as Prometheus was killed.
A mysterious spirit who is bound to a longsword, which he treats as his prized possession. He's charismatic to a fault, loving a little mischief and pizazz. He has been wandering the country of Daso for two months, after a mysterious symbol appeared on his arm and he was exiled from his home because of it. Now met up with others who share his mark, he (tentatively) has begun a new journey as a Warden to save Aesthero from an unknown threat. Despite this, he seems to have trouble leaving aspects of his old life behind...
