Merytre is an intelligent queen. She was not always looked upon favourably as she was not beautiful. However, her cunning was more than enough to win enough of her citizens over.
She knew that looks were important, it would be foolish to only bank on her intelligence... her image, her personality, the airs she put on... all of that on top of her intelligence. She would be unstoppable.
So rose the queen, chosen by Ra himself, Merytre. She opens her wings, like the wings of a falcon, and her anger blots out the sun.

Merytre is naturally a dull-looking Bruisewing with a deformed tail. She was born a princess, not fated to be a queen or a leader, but her intelligence and cunning said otherwise. She won her way to the top. However, she knew her intelligence wasn't enough. A memory, a feeling when she is seen, everything adds up.
Merytre tattooed her wings and fins to look like feathered wings. She wears a train of metal plates in the shape of feathers that scrape and clank melodiously and imposingly as she walked. Merytre's pedestal sits right under the window in the ceiling and when she raises her falcon wings, the sun will bow in her presence.
Merytre designed her entire look in the theme of Ra, even though she truly didn't believe at all, but it made her citizens fear and revere her.
