Magic mirror on the wall...

Gala has what some would call a blessing, but what he would call a curse. An ability many envy, yet one that he wouldn't wish on anybody. He was born with omniscience, the state of knowing everything. A power of that magnitude may sound desirable. You would know everything about everything and everyone. Every secret kept well guarded, every tidbit, entire life stories, no one would be able to keep anything from you. You'd know the answers to every unanswered question. What happens after death? Are we alone in the universe? All of that knowledge would be yours.

But with that knowledge comes everything you'd never want to know. Every death. Every disaster. Every awful thing everybody has ever done, and the atrocities that are to be committed in the future.

And you are powerless to stop it.

Naturally, knowing every bad thing that's bound to happen would make someone rather pessimistic. Gala tends to keep his distance from people and is rather difficult to break out of his shell. Getting attached to others hurts when you know exactly when and how they're going to die and every bad thing that will happen to them before then.

Unfortunately, omniscience is not a secret well kept. One freudian slip can give away that you know more than you let on. And once someone knows that you know all there is to know, they tend to ask questions. Gala has been asked many. Some he's humored, some he hasn't. He's implimented a self-imposed rule in response to this. Upon first meeting, you'll get 3 questions, genie style. Friends get however many they'd like, within reason.

But no matter how well he knows someone, there are some questions he just won't answer.
